AGS List Rules

1. All For Profit postings and/or advertisements by members who wish to promote their business(es) or services that  generate capital (this includes both online and offline businesses) must receive pre-approval and an identification number prior to posting to the list. They will then be allowed one (1) post per month for 6 months during the 1st week of every month. After the sixth month term, those members must reapply before additional postings are allowed.

2. Non-Profit Postings

Non-Profit Postings include Cookie Sales, Nut Sales & Calendars/QSP, as well as troop money earning projects of products that are not GSUSA product sales items. All Non-Profit postings, especially troop money earners must receive approval before being posted to the list. Troop money earning projects may or may not be subject to council's approval prior to submission to the list. All Rules and Regulations (of each troop's council / GSUSA) apply to the terms of this list and must be followed. This is for the protection of the integrity of the list and to ensure each troop is not violating any council / GSUSA guidelines that may possibly place their money earning project sales in jeopardy. Unless otherwise indicated under GSUSA rules on Internet sales, all troop money earning projects shall be placed in the AGS Trading Post. The trading post shall be posted twice each month. Resubmission to the Trading Post is needed for continual postings. Non-profit posting not published in the Trading Post are subjected to the list rules applied to for profit postings (must receive pre-approval and an identification number).

3. Personal Sales

This section includes members' "garage sale" items related but not limited to Girl Scout/Girl Guide use. Any member wishing to sell personal items, over-ordered items, or memorabilia must submit all information to the AGS Trading Post. Posting directly to the list is not allowed.

4. Group Orders

Group orders include product orders that are not part of the sanctioned AGS Cluster segments. All group orders, where an AGS member intends to order a product, item, or service that is being offered to the list as a mass order either for discount pricing or interest, must receive pre-approval prior to posting to the list. All Group Orders must set up a database at the AGS Yahoo! Groups site where members can clearly understand and place an order (and/or change them) within the set/regulated time given by the organizer of the group order.

5. Web Links

Self promotion or referrals to web sites that may benefit Girl Scouts Leaders individually or as a whole can be done freely provided that they meet the standards of a "G" or "PG" rating as recognized by the movie industry. Any religious sites must be used in connection with GSUSA religious awards and not personal belief. Any "R" or "X" rated posts or links will automatically removed from the archive files and the member will be banned from the list without notification. "R" or "X" rated sites included but are not limited to use of content through violence, sex, pornography, hatred, or abuse (of any substance).

6. Forum Promotions

All owners of other forums (age level, exchanges, or standards) should show proper netiquette in requesting to promote their forum prior to posting to the list. Forum may be selected to be placed in the AGS Partnership Program (on the AGS Members Only Webiste) provided they meet the guidelines given within that program. This means that other Yahoo! Groups (or groups maintained on other sites such as AOL or MSN) that are being advertised should only be promoted by the list owner of that group AFTER they have asked permission of one of the AGS moderators.

7. SPAM Mailing and Chain Letters

These types of posts are strictly forbidden. This includes religious, good luck, friendship, jokes, etc. Basically if it is a PASS IT ON letter, no matter how cute - don't post it! (We know friends like to do this for one another, but this is not the place. No SPAM mailing is allow, including but not limited to Avon, Amway, Mary Kay, etc. or any other consultant/representative service. Giving the actuality, there may be more then one member performing the same service and having AGS as a "war zone" over possible sales will not be tolerated, thus it will not be allowed.

8. Money Collections

In our concern for other members of AGS, their friends, and/or family members, various money collections have been petitioned for to aid these members of AGS. While we appreciate the concern for other members of the list, we must for the protection of all list members and in regards to any `capital collections' in the name of or within AGS - all money collections for other members must adhere to the following rules:

The submission must be sent to the List Owner or the Friendship Circle Moderator.

The following information regarding any form of collections (capital, material, gift cards or baskets) must be                 submitted for approval:

  •  The member that the collection is being requested for with (e-mail address, Yahoo! ID and/or members name) whichever is acquirable.

  • The reason that this collection is being requested.

  • The intent behind the request (the goal you wish to accomplish) in taking up this collection.

  •  How this collection will be rendered to the member for whom the collection is being taken.

  • Ending date of the collection, prior to the sending of the `gift' to the member.

  •  Your name, your Council name, and email address.

You must receive an approval letter from the List Owner or the Friendship Circle Moderator prior to posting the request to the list or by private email (with confirmation post attached).

Once collection date has passed (within reasonable time) the total amount collected (in any form) must be submitted to the List Owner or the Friendship Circle Moderator for unwritten verification.

Any submission to the List Owner or the Friendship Circle Moderator does not guarantee approval. Unless these rules are followed, directly posting requests to the list is strictly forbidden. Any violation of these rules during any step of this process may jeopardize your status within the AGS forum.

9. INTERNET PAY PLANS

These include "pay to surf", "pay per click", and "donations per visit". While some may be legitimate programs, AllGirlScouts does NOT promote, nor endorse any program that will benefit personal or organizational gain to members outside of this list. This means do not post any such articles to the list as a direct invite, possible show of support, or listing based on reasonable cause. This is to steer clear of any possible hoaxes, scams, or meaningless promotions. ***All links listed below your own signature in support of such items however are allowed, provided that your direct affiliation of the link is validated. You will be held responsible for all links provided beneath your signature.

10. Netiquette

Using Netiquette is expected at all times on AGS. For information on AGS List Netiquette, go to http://www.geocities.com/allgirlscouts/Extras_ListNetiquette.htm

Violation of these terms subject the member to the following:

                A. Letter of AGS Rules Reminder - Warning of violation of Terms of Service.

                B. 2nd letter of AGS Rules Reminder - Posts put on Moderated status (in other words all posts will have to be            approved by a Moderator before they are sent to the list.

                C. Possible banishment from the list.
