Entrance to Ward 17
Ben walks Bron into ward 17 and kisses her before he goes to start his ambo shift.
BRON: I love you
BEN: I love you too
BRON: I'll meet you at 12:30 for lunch out the front
BEN: Okay, I'll be waiting,bye
BRON: See ya
Their hands separate as Ben turns and leaves the ward.
CONNOR: You two are really serious arent you?
BRON: (grinning) Yeah, and I've never been happier
CONNOR: (smiling) Well, if you're happy, then I'm happy
At that moment Terri comes out of her Office.
Terri: Bron, you've got rooms 2,4 and 6
BRON: Okay
Terri: Oh, Bron there's something I need to tell you about Sandra Craig........room

But Bron had already headed into room 2, not hearing a word Terri had said.
Room 2
BRON: Hi, I'm Bronwyn Craig, and I'll be your nurse for today. How are you feeling
Mrs Craig...Oh my God....Mum??
BRON:(looking at Sandra's chart) So, you've got cancer.
SANDRA: yeah, last of it though, they say I havn't got long left.
BRON: What happened all those years ago, why weren't you there for me?
Sandra sits Bron down on the edge of her bed and explains to her how she found out she was pregnant with twins, but to a different man and her husband(Prof.Craig) obviously reacted bad to this as he didn't want someone else's children....
BRON: And Dad took me away from you, right?
SANDRA: Yeah, do you remember?
BRON: Sourta, but why didn't you keep in touch with me?
SANDRA: I tried for many years, but your father always refused to let me communicate with you in any way. Then the pregnancy became awkward and I was really busy for the next 3 years.
BRON: So, you had the twins.
SANDRA: Yes two girls, they are 14 now, Hayley and Hannah. They are not identical though. Hannah is alike you in many ways, scares ne sometimes.
There is a knock at the door and Terri walks in.
TERRI: SorryBron, but Mr Graham in room 6 has been buzzing and needs medical attention.
BRON: Yeah, sorry Terri. Um, I'll come back during lunch.
SANDRA: I thought you were my nurse, I asked for you to be.
BRON: No, I'll have to be taken off you now, it's for your own good.
SANDRA: Oh, Okay, I'm so happy to see you again.
Bron smiles and leaves to attend to an old man whilst Terri takes Bron off Sandra's case and Jared is now Sandra's nurse.
It is 12:25 and everyone is standing at the front desk.
BRON: Oh, no
JARED: What, are you okay?
BRON: Yeah, I just remembered that I had made plans with Ben for lunch but I also said I would visit Mum.
JARED: Oh, I can go down and tell Ben you got held up if you want?
BRON: Could you, thanks. Tell him I'm sorry but to com up here at 1:00, I want him to meet Mum.
JARED: Sure
Jared heads downstairs and Bron goes into room 2.
ROOM 2
BRON: So, how are you feeling?
SANDRA: Oh, okay.
There was a silence pause as two girls walk in laughing. They go and sit on either side of Sandra's bed.
SANDRA: Hayley, Hannah, I want you to meet Bron. Bron, this is Hayley (pointing to her left) and Hannah (pointing to her right).
Both girls smile but look puzzled.
HANNAH: You dont have to introduce us to all of your nurses, Mum.
Hayley and Hannah look at each other and giggle.
SANDRA: Um, no, you see, Bron is your sister.
HANNAH: WHAT?
HAYLEY: WHAT? How?
SANDRA: A one night stand, Bron's father, my husband didn't want someone elses children so he took Bron away from me.
HAYLEY: But Hannah's bad enough at times.
HANNAH:(grinning)Oh thanks, I love you too!
HAYLEY: I cant believe you didn't tell us.
Hayley leaves the room in a shitty mood.
HANNAH: Well, I think that it's cool.
The door re-opens.
HAYLEY: Um, Hannah.
Hayley takes Hannah's hand and drags her out of the room.
SANDRA: Don't worry about Haylez, she hasn't been coping with the cancer like Hannah. She usually doesn't act like that though.
BRON: Oh
SANDRA: So, are you married, boyfriend, single? Although, you wouldn't be single look at you, you're gorgeous.
BRON: (looking at her watch) Boyfriend, Ben, he should be here soon.
Sandra continues to ask Bron questions until Ben walks in after being informed about Brons Mum and Sisters by Jared.
BEN: (shaking Sandra's hand) Helo Mrs Craig, pleasure to meet you.
SANDRA: ohhh, he's a bit of alright, I'm sure Hannah would agree with me there. But please, call me Sandra.
Bron smiles as Ben wraps his arms around her.
The three of them continue talking until Bens 'Walky Talky Thing' tells him there's been an accident.
BEN: That's me, once again, pleasure to meet you.
SANDRA: Nice to meet you too.
Ben turns to Bron and kisses her.
BEN: I'll pick you up at 5:30, okay.
BRON: Yep, thanks, see-ya later
BEN: Bye
Ben leaves the room.
BRON: Anyway, I have to go, my lunch break is over now. I'll come back before I leave.
BRon opens the door and at the same time Hayley and Hannah walk in.
HAYLEY: Oh, you
HANNAH: See-ya.
BRON: (smiling at Hannah) Bye.
Bron walks out and Hannah sits on the edge of Sandra's bed while Hayley slumps in a chair.
The time now is 5:25 and Bron has just finished her shift.
Room 2
BRON:(standing in the doorway) I'm just leaving, I think today's been a bit much for me.
SANDRA: Yes
BRON: I'll be back tomorrow, though.
At that moment Ben walks in and grabs Bron around her stomach, Bron jumps.
BRON: Oh Ben, this is Hannah and Hayley, my sisters.
HAYLEY: Half sisters.
BEN: Hi, I'm Ben.
Hannah stares and then smiles after wakening from a daydream.
HANNAH: Oh, yeah, Hi.
Hayley mumbles something under her breath that only Hannah must have heard as she gave her a death stare.
HAYLEY:(smiling) What?
Bron kisses Sandra and goes to leave, Ben takes hold of Bron's hand.
BRON: I'll see you tomorrow, Hannah, Hayley.
HANNAH: Yep, Bye
HAYLEY: MMMM, whatever.
Bron and Ben leave and Sandra tells Hayley off for her bad attitude.
Hello, how are you? I'm sorry but I wont be able to get the rest of my fanfic to you until Monday. Cause tomorrow is my birthday and Sunday being New Years Eve my family will probably be out all day. Oh, I really loved the FanFic 'An All Saints Poem, Twas The Night Before Christmas' I sat at home laughing at it by myself. I thought it was very clever. I also thought that I should tell you seeing you have the FanFic awards coming up. Oh, I've decided to write some more of my fanfic now, seeing I've got some time to spare. so here it is.
>Bron and Ben are at Ben's house (although they do live together now.) cuddling up on the couch when Ben interupts the silence.
>BEN: Hannah is alike you.
>BRON: Yeah, I guess she is.
>BEN: Hayley didn't seem to happy with the situation though.
>BRON: Mum said she isn't handeling the whole cancer thing like Hannah. I was thinking, maybe we should ask Hannah and Hayley to stay her with us. I mean it'll be hard but it's worth a try.
>BEN: Yeah, I reckon Hannah would really like that, but I'm not sure how Hayley will react to that proposal.
>Bron nodds as she closes her eyes, snuggling up closer to Ben.

> The next morning......
>Bron is heading into Ward 17 in a cheerful mood but it soon broken when Connor and Jared approach her with blank looks on their faces.
>CONNOR: Bron, so you want to come into the tearoom with us?
>BRON: Why? What's going on?
>JARED: We'll explain when we're in private.
>Connor and Jared pull Bron into the tearoom by her hands and sit her down.
>BRON: Right we're in private, now tell me what's wrong. It isn't Mum, is it?
>CONNOR: (taking Bon's hand as he bobs down.) I'm really sorry Bron, she passed away last night. Hannah and Hayley are beside themselves.
>BRON: (tears rolling down her face) But I needed more time with her, I was just getting to know her.
>JARED: The cancer just got the better of her. You might want to go and see the girls, they need you now.
>BRON: I don't think Hayley would want to see me.
>CONNOR: Yeah, but I'm sure Hannah would.
>Bron stands up and Connor gives her a kiss and a big hug.
>BRON: I'll go and talk to Terri and see if she can give me the day off.
>JARED: Too late, we've already done that for you.
>BRON: Thanks guys.
>Connor wipes the tears away from Bron's face before she leaves to talk to Hannah and Hayley. Bron is walking own the corridoor when Ben sees her crying.
>BEN: (hugging her) What's wrong? Not Luke again, I'll go and get him if it is!
>Bron: No, Mum died last night.
>BEN: (hugging her even tighter) Oh, my God, I'm so sorry. Come on, I'll take you home and look after you.
>BRON: No sorry I'll have to take a reincheck, I have to go and see Hannah and Hayley.
>BEN: Sure, I'll talk to you later then.
>Ben holds Bron's face and kisses her before she heads off to see her sisters.
