Ok... here it is!! Please send me feedback/constructive critisim on how I can improve it!
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters as I am sure you all know, i am just borrowing them. I will return them in time for the season return... blah blah blah :)
Authors Note: Well, this is my first attempt at fanfic, so please remember that!! So, what's with this fan fac? It begins at the staff christmas party, which is taking place as a formal function (ie, a ball/dinner or something). The next *scene*, if you can call it that, is straight after the dinner at Rose/Mich's house. The inspiration for this fanfac cam after the season finale, and after the ep before the season finale. You just have to pretend that Ben and Bron are dating, and that Connor is not :)
Feedback: Yes, Please!

Scene One: The Christmas Party"
Good Evening employees of All Saints Western General Hospital. My name is Michael and I'm your Master of Ceremonies for this evening. So why dont you all sit back, relax and enjoy each other's company"
Jared turned back around and smiled at the rest of the table. "I'm glad they decided to have our Christmas party as a formal function. It's great to see everyone dressed up for a change! And we get to spend the night with our partners." He turns and smiles at Kylie, who returns the smile.
"Well, I never spend enough time with my partner" said Ben, looking pointedly at Bron.
"Ok Ok! I get the point!" Bron said with a laugh. "My New Year's resolution is to spend a lot more time with Mr. Ben Markham. How's that? Oh Mitch, where's Rose tonight?"
"She's at home looking after Lucy," Mitch replied quickly. "It was strange - I organised a sitter so that she could be here tonight, but Rose rang her and cancelled."
Just then, Mitch was interrupted by the MC. "Come on Ladies and Gentlemen, let's put on those dancing shoes and get those feet moving! Why don't you guys be the gentlemen you are and ask those lovely ladies out there for a dance?"
"I think that's my cue.. Bronwyn?" Ben got to his feet, extended his arm and bowed to her.
Bron followed suit, and with a smile replied, "Why, thankyou kind sir!"
"Kylie, would you like to dance?" Jared asked.
"I would love to," Kylie replied.*
Now it was only Mitch, Terri and Connor at the table.Connor was quick to pick up on the tension. Rising, he said, "I think this is the time that I make myself scarce... those ladies over there look like they might need some company."An awkward silence falls between Mitch and Terri. In a desperate attempt to make conversation, Terri brought up the only topic she could think of. "So Mitch, how are things between you, Rose and the baby?" "Please Terri, i don't want to talk about this now. Things aren't any better, and I dont know how to improve the situation." "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause you pain, but I thought that you could talk to me... considering we are such old friends..."Mitch cut Terri off with sad attempt at a laugh. "I think we were a bit more than "Old frinds" Terri.""Yes we were," Terri replied with a smile. "You and I had some pretty fun times then, didn't we?""But everthing's diferrent now." Mitch paused. Both were deep in thought, reminiscing about the past. It was Mitch who broke the silence. "You know, I thought that you and i would be together forever Terri.""So did I. We sure were wrong, weren't we?""Mmmm. But that doesn't mean that I don't still love you, Terri. In fact, I dont think i've ever stopped loving you.""I haven't stopeed loving you either Mitch. Look, I know I shouldn't be telling you this now, but I made the worst mistake of my life the night I walked out of that relationship.""I would never have hurt you Terri. You should have known that." Mitch replied sadly. She had hurt him so badly that night."I know that now, but then I was young, and I didn't want to to end up trapped as my mother was with my father. I just didn't want to take that chance!" By this stage, Terri was crying. It hurt to relive what had happened between them, and hurt that they still didn't really understand why they broke up."I understand that, but..." Mitch stopped mid-sentence. Terri looked up, confused as to why he had stopped. "But what? What were you going to say?"Mitch was hesitant to start again, but Terri's eyes prompted him to continue. She had a right to know. "It's just that sometimes, especially late at night, I miss you Terri. And I wish that i could hold you in my arms again.""Oh Mitch, I feel the same way. I really miss you too. But you have Rose now, and nothing can ever come of what we feel for each other. It just can't happen. Not now."Mitch rose to his feet and extended his arm toward Terri. "Dance with me? Please?""Here? Now? But people will see us!" Terri looked around. There were couples everywhere, snuggled together in each others arms, and swaying gently to the music."Why not?" Mitch answered. "It's only a dance... and besides, we are friends, aren't we?"*
Scene Two: After the dinner, at the Stevens residence.Mitch was exhausted that night when he returned home. As he opened the door, he could hear Lucy screaming, and wondered why Rose hadn't picked her up. Her moved quickly to her room, soothed her cries and placed her back in the crib. "Sleep tight, little one."It was then that he noticed the house was remarkably quiet. He called out to Rose, but there was no reply. Upon entering the living room, he noticed something on the floor. Mitch paused to pick it up. It was a photo. But it wasn't just any photo, it was one of him and Terri when they were together. And the half where Terri had been cut off.Mitch ran up to the bedroom, and it was here that he found Rose lying on the bed. He shook her, but she didn't move. She was cold. He felt for her pulse, but there was none. Rose was dead."Rose... wake up! Wake up, Rose! Oh God, please dont do this to me... ROSE!" But it was of no use. She wasn't going to wake up... ever. All he could do was to break down and cry.************************************Rose had died of an overdose of Litium. She hadn't been able to cope with the idea that she might lose Mitch to Terri, so she personally increased her dosage. When the doctor told him of his findings, Mitch didn't know what to do. The only thing that kept him distract him was the attention that he had to give Lucy. She had no mother now, and needed all the support she coould get. But who would be there to support him? Finally Mitch went to the phone and dialled Terri's number... one he knew without having to hink."Terri... it's Mitch. Sorry to have to ring you so later, but... oh God. It's Rose... Terri, she's dead."THE END!
Hope you liked it, and please give me some feedback... how can i improve it? So yeah. Oh, and if you can think of a name that would be appropriate that would be great!!
