HORRID FUTURES
By Katie
Part 1
Covered in paperwork, Terri sat exhausted, awaiting for Mitch to return in his
tank of a car, (which she hated with a passion, it took her about three goes to
get in!) to pick her up.
Time was ticking by, slowly but surely and Terri began
to worry. Mitch was always *fashionably* late. But never like this!
A soft knock at the door brought her back to reality.
Automatically thinking it was Mitch, she quickly shuffled her papers into a neat
pile. But just as she was about to place them in her nearby, blue folder, Von
made her way into the room.
“Sorry, were you busy?”
Terri looked up from what she was doing, with a confused gaze on her face while
raising her eyebrows. Almost as if she were asking a question.
“I can go….” Von pointed a finger behind her as
she looked at the door.
“No….oh, umm no, it’s okay, I was expecting
someone, that’s all.”
Terri sighed then glanced at the clock. Mitch was over 45 minutes late. And
hadn’t even bothered to call…
Part 2
Terri being stressed and over worked, forced a smile upon her face as she
queried Von.
“Sit down…” Terri pleaded, lifting her hand above
the desk indicating the chair opposite.
“Oh…no, its nothing important. I just wanted to
check if dinner was still on…?”
“Ahh, yeah, it should be.” Terri replied, in a
hopeful tone. Though she knew she wouldn’t be home in time to cook anything
delightfully pleasing.
“Okay, I should be around at about 8”
“Eights fine”
Part 3
And with that, Terri smiled loosely as Von ventured out the door.
Looking beyond the glass in the window, and out to the
semi-dark howling sky’s. Terri decided on gathering her belongings and working
her way down to the car park, in order to wait for Mitch to arrive. That’s if
he was planning to….
Upon reaching her destination, and taking a seat on the
cold, short brick fence. Terri discerned the outline of a silver pajero, making
its way through the dim parking lot. Purely by familiarity, she stood, and
pulled her bag over her shoulder as the car pulled up beside her. Opening the
door, and taking her three goes of getting in, she half frowned at Mitch.
“We should really get a smaller car. You know how I
dislike this.”
Finally getting into a comfortable position on the seat, she reached beside her
to grab hold of the seatbelt, pulled it in the direction of her waist, and
fastened it into the latch. The ride was awfully unnerving. There were no words
spoken, until arriving in the driveway.
Part 4
More actions than words expressed the feelings.
“I was worried, you know?”
Terri broke the silence. Her heart was breaking, yet she held her feelings back.
Mitch just took a large breath inwards, sighed, opened the door, and
proceeded out.
“Miittch?” Terri said in an agonized tone, as if to
question why he was walking away. Yet, he didn’t show any sign of
acknowledgement. Mitch waited as Terri got out of the car from inside the house,
so he could lock the car using central locking.
Terri was utterly annoyed with his actions, and as she proceeded into the
house, she contemplated on how to confront him.
It didn’t turn out as well as she had planned…
Part 5
The yells her horrific, Terri didn’t want to fight. Yet Mitch wouldn’t let
go.
“Terri! You’re lucky I even came at all, okay!?”
“ Mitch, can we please just talk about this?!”
“No, I don’t want to talk. You never understand me. Like turning up at
your house drunk. You wouldn’t even have a clue what I was feeling!”
“You know I understand you.”
“That’s why when I was nearly exposed to the Ebola virus, and I told
you I loved you, you didn’t say it back?”
Terri’s eyes began to glisten with tears.
“You don’t even know what I went through!”
By this time she was distraught. Mitch had never used that against her before,
she did love him, he should have known that!....
Part Six
Making her way up the stairs, Terri’s tears ran silently down her cheeks. She
ventured into the bathroom, in hope Mitch wouldn’t be trailing behind her, for
the bathroom door had not been fixed with a lock yet.
Shutting the door behind her, the tiles were cold on her
feet. Pushing her body weight against the back of the door, she contemplated
what Mitch could have been thinking. She sighed, and moved forwards, in the
direction on the basin, vanity and mirror. Her eyes were red, so she reached her
hand down towards the cold tap, turned it on, and splashed her face with the
brisk water. As she turned the tap off, and buried her face in the hand towel,
she could hear Mitch’s foot steps making their way up the stairs…..
Part....What ever it was...Sorry Ive lost track....Haha, all I
know is that mitch is coming up the stairs!
Here you go....
Terri could hear the footsteps of what sounded like Mitch - Getting louder and
louder. Making their way closer to the bathroom door every second. She didnt
want to think about what would happen from here on. No words could have
expressed what was surging inside her...what was Mitch going to say, or do, and
what was she going to do in return
Part.....Someone help me here! HAHA
Mitch was obviously angry about something. But Terri didnt want to bring him to
the brink more than he already was.
Walking across the hall, Mitch thought about his actions. He didnt want to say
what he did. But he always had a habbit of saying what was in his *heart*.
He didnt think an apology would settle there argument. Thought, he tried anyway.
Meanwhile, Terri was sitting silently on the cold bathroom tiles, contemplating
Mitch's words, that kept repeating over and over in her mind.
Terri was dissapointed in herself. She loved him so much, yet when he told her
his feelings, she couldnt find the courage to express her own.
A silent knock at the door had brought her back to the thoughts she was dreading
most......
"Sullivan....."
Terri didnt respond.
"Sullivan....? Are you...okay?"
She was still sitting on the floor, tears rolling from her eyes. Replying to his
call would mean giving in. Though she did want to, she felt it wasnt right.
There was a breif silence.
"For what its worth, you are the thing that keeps me waking up everyday. I
love you being in my arms, and carressing your body. If I could take what I said
back, I would....but what is said is said. And we will have to live with it for
the rest of our lives, and that makes me feel dreadful...."
He could hear her crying through the door. Terri's feelings counted to him, and
his counted to her. Mitch's apology was heart wrenching, and the build up in
side her was breath taking. She wanted to race up and jump in his arms, but she
couldnt find it in her heart....
Her tears were slipping out uncontrollably when Mitch told her that he didnt
think he should be there, and that he would stay in a motel for a few
nights....Terri didnt want him to go, she forgave him, but couldnt bring herself
to say it....
Mitch sighed, and began walking down the stairs, and upon reaching the bottom,
he grabbed his keys and coat and as he was heading out the door.
Terri's caring cry made him turn around.
"Miiitch?" She said in an agonized tone.....
"Please dont go.....I love you, and need you!"
Mitch looked into her tear wrenched eyes, smiled and with that his words were.
"I love you too, always and forever, but I have done the wrong thing."
Blowing her a sweet kiss, he closed the door behind him...and headed down the
path.....
Hehe, right on!
Now, where was I? LOL
Oh yes....
Mitch walking down the path.....
Terri didnt want him to leave, nor did she want to fight. Mitch was her life.
And Terri was his too. Her eyes began to blur...with tears, with thoughts, with
Mitch. It was hard on them. Rose had been making things worse, and Mitch needed
Lucy.
A sharp pain ran through Terri's head. As she lifted her hand to carress her
temple, it truck even harder.
Taking her free hand, and grabbing on the stair rail beside her, she noticed the
pain was getting worse, and decided on taking something. But before reaching the
top of the stairs she slipped, as her mind was on other things.
She fell....Hard....knocking her self unconcious. Not being able to reach a
phone. She was left there. Not knowing where Mitch was and when he would be
back.....
haha. that was sooooo bad....SORRY
