The First Date

Ben and Bron have been flirting for a couple of months now and Ben decides
something should happen.
“Hey Terri, you seen Bron anywhere?”
“Yeah. She’s in the tea room.”
“Thanks.”
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing. Bron will tell you later if it all goes to plan.”
Ben walked into the tearoom and saw Bron sitting at the table eating her
sandwich and drinking her orange juice. Bron had a strange feeling run through
her body and turned around to see Ben leaning against the door looking at her.
“Hey Ben. What are you doing here?’
“Um, came to see you actually.”
“Oh yeah. What can I do for you?”
“I was wondering, if your not busy, you would like to go to dinner with me
tonight?”
“Umm, yeah I would love too.”
“Cool. Pick you up about 7?”
“Yeah. We’re we going first? So I know if I have to dress casual or fancy
pansy.”
“Dress Fancy cross Casual.”
“K. See you then.”
“Yep bye.”
Bron was so excited about what had just happened, she ran into Ward 17 to tell
everyone.
“Jared, guess what.”
“What?”
“Ben asked me out on a date!”
“Oh my god. My Bron is growing up! Jokes. When you two going out?”
“Tonight. So, I was wondering, if you could take over my….”
“NO WAY! I’M NOT TAKING OVER YOU SHIFT BRON!”
“Why? Come on Jared. I’ve done it for you before. Now it’s your turn to
repay the favor!”
Bron gave Jared that look that always made him change his mind about things.
“OH ALRIGHT THEN! You have to pay me back though.”
“Yeah I will. Don’t you worry.”
When Bron’s shift finished at 6, she drove home, had a shower and then had to
decide what to wear.
“Na, it makes me look fat.”
“Na, shows my ass off to much.”
“JARED! CAN YOU HELP ME CHOOSE SOMETHING TO WEAR!”
“Bron, you know you look good no matter what you wear.”
“Oh so, I should go on my first date with Ben in my underwear then.”
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
“SHIT! THAT’S BEN AND I’M NOT EVEN READY! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?”
“I’ll stall him for ya.”
“Thanks Jared.” Jared went and answered the door.
“Hey Ben. Um firstly, Bron isn’t ready and I have to stall you for 5 minutes
ok.”
“HUH? Ah yeah! What ever.” Ben said looking confused.
“You want a beer while you wait?”
“Na, I’m driving, mate.”
“Ah yeah. That’s right.” Jared mumbled under his breath.
Just then Bron walked out in a red halter-neck dress that was knee length and
that made her look very slim and sexy. Jared and Ben’s mouths flew open at the
sight of her.
“K. I’m ready. Sorry I took so… What’s wrong? Does it make me look
fat?”
“No, you look great! Stunning actually!” Ben said looking very happy.
“So where we going?”
“Um, it’s a surprise. We should go. We’re late as it is.”
“Ah yeah, we should.”
“See ya Jared. Ah and yeah, close your mouth Jared. You don’t want fly’s
nesting in your mouth.”
Ben blind folded Bron and drove her to a place that had trees covered in
fireflies. It seemed to him as a magical place that Bron would love very much.
“K. Take the blind fold off.”
Bron took off the blind fold and saw the most magical thing in front of her very
eyes.
“WOW BEN! This is so. So unspeakable, Where did you find a place like this?”
“Found it when we had a call out at night and I thought you would love it and
you do!”
“Wow Ben, thank you. This is the best first date ever.”
Bron leant over and kissed Ben on the lips. He kissed her back.
“Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” Bron said going red in the face
“Hey, it’s fine. Don’t be scared of me.”
“I’m sorry. I just don’t usually make a move on a guy on our first
date.”
“Well, would it matter if I made the move instead of you?”
“Ha ha ha ha.”
Bron cracked up laughing. Ben kissed her and they started making out in the back
seat.
“WOW. I never expected that to happen.” Bron said trying to catch her
breath.
“Me either.”
“So, we going to eat or didn’t you bring any food?”
“Um, yeah I did bring some romantic food and champagne.”
“OOO. Bubbly, My favourite.”
“Thought it was.”
Bron and Ben sat on the bonnet of his car and ate and drank watch the fireflies
in the trees. They fell asleep in the car wrapped in each other’s arms.
“Hey, Bron. Wake up!” Ben yelled as he realized they had fallen asleep.
“WHAT? OH SHIT! I’VE GOT WORK AND I’M ALREADY LATE.” Bron yelled as she
looked at her watch.
“Hey. I’ll drive you back home and I’ll drive you to work.”
“K. But hurry. Terri is going to kill me.”
Ben drove Bron home. Waited in her lounge room for her. Drove her to work and
kissed her good-bye.
“So, how was your date last night?” Asked Jared, as he knew she didn’t
come home last night.
“It was great. He took me to this place where trees were covered in fireflies.
And then we fell asleep in the back of his car.” Jared looked at Bron as if
‘OOO, something good must have had happened.’
“And NO Jared, we didn’t do what you’re thinking of.”’
“Hey, I wasn’t thinking that at all.”
“Hey Bron. How was your date last night with Ben?”
“Yeah, good. Very romantic and I’ll remember it for a long time to come.”
