Together At Last

Bron and Ben were sitting outside the hospital on a bench talking and eating lunch. 

“So, how you been? Asked Ben. 

“Yeah, been better. I don’t know Ben. I’ve been feeling really weird whenever I go to work each morning. I don’t know why but hopefully I find out shortly because I can’t stand this much longer.” 

“Um is it because I’m at work with you sometimes?” asked Ben with a little smirk on his face. 

“Excuse me?” 

“You not what I mean, Bron.” 

“No. I don’t.” 

“I have feelings for you. You have feelings for me.” 

“Um not even.” Bron stood and was about to walk away when Ben grabbed her hand. 

“Bron. You know I’m in love with you. And I know you’re in love with me.” Ben said looking very deeply into her eyes. 

“Um. Look I gotta go. I’m sorry, but I have no feelings like that towards you. I only like you as a friend. I can’t do any better than that. I’m sorry.” 

Bron ran off crying and ran back into the hospital. She walked into the tearoom where Terri was sitting sipping her coffee and reading a magazine. Bron wiped her eyes as she walked to her locker. 

“Bron. You ok?” 

“Yeah. I’m fine. Just a little confused, that’s all.” 
“Bout what?” 

“Ben. Our friendship. Our feelings towards each other. He said that we were in love with each other. But I couldn’t say anything.” Bron started to cry. 

“Well do you?” Terri asked. 

“Do I what?” 

“Do you love him? Do you have feelings towards each other?” 

“I don’t know. I think I might. I think I might be in love with him, Terri.” 

“Well that’s good isn’t it?” 

“Yeah. I guess so. But I don’t know how to tell him that I’m in love with him. Terri, what happens if he doesn’t love me after what I did to him before? What happens if he’s not interested to make us a go?” 

“Bron, I don’t think he will reject you in anyway. I bet you that he has the same feelings towards you that you have towards him. Just go up to him and tell him how you feel. And let things go from there. Alright?” 

“Yeah. Thanks Terri. You know that you give out the best advice. I think that you should use your own advice sometime and see how things go from there.” Bron winked at Terri. Wiped her eyes and walked down to the Ambulance Base. 

“Hey Scotty, where’s Ben?” Bron asked. 

“Ah. He’s seeing Rebecca about something that happened at a call out today, why?” 

“Um. Just need to see him about something that’s all. I’ll come back later.” 

Just then, Ben walked out and saw Bron standing there. 

“Hey, what you doing here?” Ben asked looking curious. 

“Um, come to see you actually.” Bron gave out a little smirk. 

“Ah, I’ll just leave you guys to it. See ya later Bron.” Scott winked at Bron and walked off. 

“Yeah, see ya.” 

“So, you wanted to see me.” 

“Yeah. Um. I was thinking about what you said earlier. About our feelings towards each other. Well, I’ve thought about it and this is what I think.” 
Bron kissed Ben. Ben kissed her back. 

“I’m in love with you and I can’t change the way I feel sorry. So yeah.” 
Ben just stood there looking shocked by what Bron had just said. Bron walked off feeling really stupid of what she had just done. Ben grabbed her arm. Turned her around and kissed her. Bron kissed Ben back and they kissed in a passionate link. 

“Now it’s my turn. I love you and I can never change the way I feel either. So I guess we’re equal in love.” 

“Yeah I guess so.” They kissed and walked off and sat under a tree where they kissed more and talked more about their relationship. Bron kissed Ben good-bye as she walked back to Ward 17. 

“Hey Matt. Where’s Terri?” 

“In her office I think. Hey Bron. You’ve got a leaf stuck in your hair.” Matt pulled the leaf out as they both laughed. 

“Thanks.” Bron then knocked on Terri's door. Walked in and saw her and Mitch kissing. 

“Whoops. Sorry.” 

“Na it’s fine. SO how did it go with Ben?” 

“Great. We’re together and we’re going out on our first date. Cool huh!” 

“Great. And thanks Bron also.” 
“Thanks for what?” 

“Thanks for telling me to use my own advice.” 

“Huh? Oh! No worries. I hope you used it right.” 

“Yeah, sure did.” 

“Ok I’m off. My shift has finished. I’m now going home, getting ready for my date and then letting the night go from there.” 

“Bye. And good luck” 

“Ta. See ya Mitch. Have a good day.” 

“Yeah bye, Bron.” 

Bron got home. Had something to eat. Had a shower. Got all dulled up for her date with Ben. And waited for 10 mins for him to pick her up. 

“Hey. You’re early.” Said Bron. 

“Yeah sorry. Got a bit excited. Couldn’t wait any longer.” 

“Me either. So where are we going?” 

“Umm, a new restaurant down the road from Cougars.” 

“Oh cool. Well we better go then hey. Don’t want to be late on our first date.” 

“No. Guess not.” 

Bron and Ben left for their date. They had their meals and chatted the night away. They left and Ben dropped Bron off at her place. Luckily Jarred and Scott are out tonight. So her and Ben have the place to themselves. 

“You wanna come in for a cuppa?” 

“Yeah sure. As long as you have biscuits to go with it.” 

Bron cracked up laughing. “Yeah I think we do have some around.” 

They sat down and drank their coffees and watched a late night movie. 

“Hey I’ll be back I’m gonna change out of my dress.” 

“Yeah, sure. I’ll still be here when you get back.” 

Bron got changed into the only thing she had that’ll be sexy enough for Ben. Her tracky dacks and a T-shirt that says Sexy Bitch. She walked out to the lounge room and found Ben asleep on the lounge. She walked up to him and pulled a blanket over him and kissed him good night on the lips. He kissed her back. He pulled her onto him and they kissed passionately. 

“Hey lets go into my room where it’ll be more suitable.” Bron smirked at Ben. 

“Alright then.” 

They managed their way to Bron’s room while kissing and trying to strip off each other’s clothes. They hopped onto Bron’s bed and made love. The next morning Bron rolled over and kissed Ben good morning. 

“Good morning beautiful.” 

“Good morning. Hey you wanna join me for a shower?” 

“Um yeah sure. I have to get to work shortly as well so it’ll be the best way to go off to work. Thinking of the shower memories.” 

“HaHa. You have the weirdest memories, buddy but I love you.” 

“I love you to, Bron.” 




Bron and Ben joined each other in the shower. Enjoyed it and went to work with Big Grins on their faces. Everyone knew what was happening with them, as Jarred and Scott told everyone. But they didn’t care as they were in love with each other.
