Opening Old DoorsLong time since any of my work has
been up on All Saints 4eva. Lots has changed since 2003, including my ability
to write - much better now than I was then!!! Also, I'm glad to say that these
days my fanfiction is more realistic! Thank you to Nikki for accepting my
work, and for the encouragement. Also for the great chats we've had after
being reunited! Feedback would be appreciated by
anyone who can take the time out to send it: aussiefanfic@forever-now.net Also wanted to plug my website (fanfiction): http://www.forever-now.net/aussiefanfic/index.php disclaimer: As always, the
characters are not mine. They remain the property of channel 7 and All
Saints. Opening Old Doors Part One Terri Sullivan walked the corridors of the
empty ward. It was hard not to notice how run-down the place was…but
that was to be expected with a ward that had not been in use for over six
years. It was always her opinion that Ward 17
should never have been shut down. The hospital needed the beds and the staff.
The budget was the problem. Wasn’t it always? Because the CEO had to
slash millions of dollars off an already slim budget, the ward had to go.
Apparently, All Saints was not in need of a ‘garbage ward.’ “What a difference a little time can
make,” Terri said to herself as she wandered into her old office and
stared at the empty space in front of her. The hospital had decided that it
did need a garbage ward after all, and they wanted her to run it. Of course Terri accepted. Ward 17 had always
been her ‘baby’ so to speak…her second love after Mitch
Stevens. She had never, and could never walk away from it entirely. Although
she worked as NUM at St Angela’s, All saints was where her heart was.
She had jumped at the chance to reprise her old position. There were so many memories for Terri within
the walls of the ward. She was surprised by the vividness of them all. The
memories were strong, clear, and just as emotional as they had been when
she’d lived through them. Images of good, and
not so good memories floated through her mind, transporting her back to
another life. Things had changed so dramatically since those years. Never had
she expected to be a mother to Lucy, or to feel love for anyone other than
Mitch. If there was one thing Terri learned, it was
that time was her friend. With time, things heal, change, and grow. To Terri,
the re-opening of Ward 17 was another new beginning. Another moment which
belonged to her heart. |
