Pure and simple, he’s as good as any Lord and he is fit to run any Hold on Pern. But what he is suited for is more complex. He knows that dragons are in his future. And he has attempted on many occasions to convince his father and mother of this. As prominent Crafters in Caledrus, they will not allow him to profess his love for dragons and the like. He is short of running away to achieve his goals. What Dolren has going for him, in the draconic respect however, is that he is remarkably empathic and seems to attract not only riders, their dragons and the like but strangely tunnel snakes and wherries, as well as watch whers and flits congregate around the young man. He sees this as irrefutable proof that he is dragon-rider material! The strength of his craft ability still shows through, however, even with all the dragons in the world outside… He is a tailor’s son, and his own skills in the clothier craft can hardly be matched in Caledrus.
