Ah yes, the 'Friends' section. No webpage would be complete without taking the time to recognize the important people in our lives. You know, the people who make and break plans, give a three month hiatus to talking, stand one up, not respond to email or letters...need I go on? But I digress. We all have our interesting stories, and for some of us, are able to maintain long distance friendships. Difficult? Yes. Yet always able to stand the test of time.

An interesting tale indeed. I had heard wondrous things spread like wildfire across the American University campus about a one Damian Cabotaje. His wit, intelligence and comedy routine involving a monkey made him a legend at all nearby college campuses. But into my sophomore year, I'd yet to catch his act. Until one day, in line at the campus pub, I saw his name flash across the register screen. The legend was no longer merely hearsay, but standing right in front of me! Flustered, I introduced myself, babbling about the honor of being in his presence and offered him some of my peach ice cream; unbeknownst to me, his favorite. Thus, the friendship began.Name:

Late one night, I found myself in a smoky joint downtown. Barely able to see through the foggy haze, I settled at a back table, nursing my vodka tonic. I heard the chink of a piano begin to play and the voice drift through the bar. It was Wendy up there, standing behind the microphone, crooning soulfully at those of us fading into the smoke. She was doing what I had always wanted! The sultry bar singer act. When her set was over, she was at the bar and I approached. We closed the bar in the early morning hours, having talked about our lives and seeing a common theme. I also found out the bar gig was a cover for something much more scandalous! What, you may ask?
