"Manav Kendra" are words from the Hindi language that describes a place of sanctuary for humanity, where one may find benefit in the process of man-making. The atmosphere is peaceful there and one can find a great deal of help through meditation and working on agricultural and farming projects.
The Manav kendras, or man making centers, were started by Sant Kirpal Singh (the Master of Sant Thakar Singh) as places where one could develop one's higher God-self through service and meditation. Open to all, the underlying theme of these centers is human fellowship with universal love and acceptance. Sant Thakar Singh has continued the manav kendra philosophy, as a testimony to the higher spiritual life of the soul.
His aim is to prepare human beings to become practical examples of the teachings of the Masters. The ideology behind this work is service to mankind. As Lord Christ said, In Love serve one another.
Manav kendra Oregon is located on 305 acres of land in the Umpqua valley of central Oregon. Also known as Lighthouse Farm, the Manav Kendra grows organic fruits, nuts, and vegetables as one of its activities of self-sufficiency. Meditation, service and man-making are the cornerstones upon which the life of the center is built.
