"POD RAFE"

Okay, I'm not one who really likes to "rant" often, but it's come to the point where even *I'm* impatient and something's gotta give! So allow me a few minutes as I get on my soapbox.

I love Rafe. Who doesn't love Rafe? He's a sweet, caring, romantic guy. He's an angel! But he was also smart. Not so much anymore. You see, "Normal Rafe" would have been able to see past Livvie's manipulations and he would see the truth in Alison's eyes. But no, "Normal Rafe" is gone b/c "Pod Rafe" has taken over his body.

Okay, so rewind when Rafe first got back and Livvie found him and took him to the cabin. Rafe had the right instincts before Livvie's brainwashing took effect. He knew something was up, why did he feel like a prisoner? And why did he feel like he had a connection to somebody? Rafe should have listened to those gut instincts, but instead, he didn't. You see, I can understand why Rafe was easily tricked by Livvie...to a point. Remember, Rafe had never been in love before Alison, and he lost his memories of her and therefore, his memories of being in love as well. And Rafe so desperately wanted someone love. That's what Rafe has wanted most of his life. So when Livvie told him they were involved, well, he was easily tricked.

Now that, I can understand. But what happened next...I don't!

The first stupid mistake Pod Rafe made was ignoring his flashbacks of Alison. He *knew* he felt a connection to someone, and flashes of this beautiful blonde kept haunting his dreams. Now, if you were Rafe, and you had no memory of your past life, and this girl tells you that you were involved, but you don't have any memories of her, would you marry her?? Especially if you didn't have flashbacks of her, but yet, you kept thinking of this blonde girl instead? Well, of course, we all know the rational thing to do in this situation would be not to be led around by some brunette who claims to know all the answers w/o checking to see if she is telling the truth. But this is Pod Rafe. Pod Rafe has taken over Normal Rafe. Once in a while, Normal Rafe will try to emerge, like when Rafe tried to stop his marriage to Livvie b/c he felt it was wrong, but Pod Rafe always seems to win in the end.

The second stupid mistake Pod Rafe made was when he finally found Alison, he *kissed* her, and then never stopped to think, "Oh, I wondered why I kissed her?" Come on, think Rafe! You feel a connection to someone, you have dreams of this girl, you see her, you kiss her, she tells you that she's your destiny...Rafe, am I getting through to ya? Don't you see? It's so clear and obvious to me! Oh, no, you see, it's not obvious to
Pod Rafe.

The third stupid mistake Pod Rafe made was ignoring what's in his heart. He knows that he can't get Alison out of his mind, and he even admitted that he wanted her in the attic. But yet, he decides he needs to stay away from Alison and live a life with Livvie. Rafe, do I need to hit you over the head with something? At this rate, Livvie doesn't even need to worry about covering up her lies. I bet she could go up to Rafe and confess everything and he would still stay with her! Because this is...Pod Rafe.

And the fourth stupid mistake Pod Rafe has made...ignoring the obvious clues thrown at him! Now yes, if someone told me I was dead and was actually an angel, yeah, I'd probably not believe them either. But yet, this isn't me, this is Rafe. The Rafe who has dealt with vampires and avatars, the Rafe who has been told that angels were in Port Charles. Alison, Livvie, and Lucy all make references to angels around Rafe, and yet, Rafe is finding this hard to believe?? I just don't get this! Wait, yeah I do, it's b/c this is Pod Rafe.

Now, I'm not saying Rafe is dumb when it comes to all things. In fact, I think he's pretty intelligent when it comes to things like vampires and avatars, I just think that the Pod has taken over and made him blind to other evil forces like Livvie.

I want Normal Rafe back! I love it when Normal Rafe tries to break free from Pod Rafe's spell, like when he was saving Alison and called out that he came back for her, or like when he couldn't resist kissing Alison in the attic that day. I miss Normal Rafe. I'm sick of Pod Rafe.

Come on Rafe, fight the pod in you and return to normal!
