The Rali Commentary

5.10.02

Okay, I've got to say this…I LOVE Superstition. There, I said it. Now that you all think I'm crazy lol, let me tell you why. But first of all, I'm with you, I'm not happy with Rali being apart either, and yes, whatever Bitch Livvie is up to, I'm sure I'll hate. But I still love this arc.

For those that have been saying it's slow, you're probably thinking that it was a while before Rafe appeared and that bugged you, right? Well we're already in the second month. In fact, don't think of it as in terms of months. Think of it as in weeks. We've already got 7 more weeks to go. Seven! Personally though, I've never thought of this arc as slow, because it's kept me thinking what will happen. I knew that it would be just a matter of time before we would see Rebecca stepping out of the portrait, Alison opening her candle shop, and finally getting to see what Rafe was up to in Heaven. And honestly, if you have watched everyday, maybe you haven't realized this, but you WILL miss a lot if you stop watching. I was on a board the other day and someone made a post about "Ed is Rafe's Dad? When did THIS happen?!" So you see, you can miss a lot! I'm just telling you this b/c you know you'll be kicking yourself if you miss Alison's reaction to seeing Rafe!

Another reason I am really enjoying this arc is Erin Hershey. Now you know I love Brian Gaskill, and I know everyone else loves Brian too, but don't forget, there are two people in Rali. In Secrets and now in Superstition, Erin has really had the chance to shine, and she is an incredible actress. In this arc, we have watched her grieve for Rafe, lose her best friend Livvie, and be put in prison. So I guess what I'm getting at is that Alison is my favorite character, and this is an "Alison Arc", so of course I'm loving it.

Okay, just one more thing, then I'll shut up. You know it's going to have a happy ending. I can really feel that it will be. Because first of all, if you have watched soap operas for a long time, you know that every time a person goes to trial for someone's murder, they are ALWAYS innocent, and they will eventually be cleared of it. Every single time. Even if the person still goes to jail, they will eventually get out. So think about it….that means that at some point in this arc, Kevin will come back. This trial will not go on forever. And do you really think TPTB would abandon a Rafe and Alison pairing (which they KNOW they hit a gold mine with) over a Rafe and Livvie one? Please! I don't think so. That would defeat the whole purpose of this arc….Rafe and Alison surviving the ultimate test and finding their way back to each other!

So I'll end w/ this note. My sister walked in on me watching Port Charles, and she said, "Oh, this combines your two favorite things: Candles and soap operas. You must be LOVING this!" And I said, "Yes, I am!"

BTW: everything is just my opinion!
