The Andean Experience

Carlos Aliaga, artist, philosopher and Historic Atlantis expedition 1999 co-ordinator, invites you to join him in the Andean Experience, stay with him in Cochabamba, visit his collahge museum, or his Inca museum on the Island of the Sun in fabulous Lake Titicaca; be a guest in his authentic Uru house in the Garden of Eden estate high in the mountain village of Sorata or just come and have a good time in Bolivia.

First a few words of introduction about Carlos Aliaga by Jim Allen. In 1999 I received from Carlos Aliaga in Bolivia, an invitation to visit and stay with him a spell in Bolivia which led to a tour of Cochabamba, La Paz, Isla del Sol and the mountain village of Sorata which he considers to be the "Garden of Eden" under the shadow of Olympus (Mt Llampu).

This was followed by an expedition in Carlos’ jeep to the site of Santuario de Quillacas on the southern shore of Lake Poopo for which Carlos became my "expedition co-ordinator" and since in passing we saw in the distance what looked like a more interesting site at Pampa Aullagas, Carlos later went back with his wife Anna and the young boys to check this site out and sent me a report all about it.

In writing a link for Carlos homepage, I have called him an "artist and philosopher" though no doubt he would call himself something else, a Humanist perhaps since he likes to insert an "h" in every other word on behalf of Humanity. For example he is a collagist which he likes to call Collahgist. Carlos is also an Engineer by training and is proudly an academician of the Russian founded International Informatization Academy. Let him tell you a little more in his own words about his recently created A7 project.

"Aliaga7. It is a Centre for things like studying and experiencing the Collahge, for studying things like historic Atlantis, for understanding the necessity of the admission of the Holocaust, to discuss Marcuse, Hegel and the like. Where is it? In the places that are mentioned -so far those are the facilities.

It doesn’t have to be killing ourselves going to the salt plains -which are beautiful: that is the wrong approach, lets just give the people a good time in La Paz, in the muela del diablo in Sorata, in the Island of the Sun - easy access places, let’s start with the collahge museum of Atlantis today.

So we bring people to Atlantis but Atlantis is also a State of mind like Ecology; the difference is that Atlantis I (and if you agree, then we) concentrate in the artistic
aspect rather than the gury type mystical bullshit; but more yet, but see you and I are different as you value other aspects of art than me -you value the plastic aesthetic where as I value the conceptual one. So, it is not fair to say WE. So until someone else in the world doesn’t show something better in terms of Atlantis, this has to be Atlantis. Again for me the MAIN THING of Atlantis is that if it existed: it did disappear induced by geophysical phenomena from society’s corruption, THUS, watch out earth -here comes the link to global climate instability etc and here we try to stabilise climate.

This is my sort of thing: I want to leave a biosphere-able world for my children and for the children of my children and their generation.

If people don’t admit the Holocaust they can’t get what is going in this world -sorry that is the case."
