Who was Isaiah?

Isaiah was born aorund 760 B.C. to a man named Amos, not related to the prophet Amos, and lived during the Second Half of the 
eigth century B.C. in Jerusalem.Isaiah was an energitic leader in the cause of the God of Israel. He preached trusting in the one God 
and a message of Hope, and that a Messiah would come. He was the advisor to kings Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Isaiah's access to 
the King's court suggests a noble birth. Isaiah was well educated and was married to a women whom he called "the prophetess" and had two sons.

Why is Isaiah important to Salvation History?

Isaiah is important to Salvation History because it is the longest prophetic book with the most detail in the Bible.
 He also predicted the coming of Immanuel.
Isaiah is also mentioned many times in the New Testament by Jesus.

The spirit of the lord shall rest upon 
him:
a spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
A spirit of consel and of strength,
a spirit of knowledge and of fear the Lord
and his delight shall be the fear of the Lord.
