How I spent my Winter Vacation: Part One
First, I woke up. It was 6:00 in the a.m. and I'll admit I was a little groggy. Okay, really groggy. I stumbled to the car and fell asleep. Next thing I know, we're in Iowa with a flat. Dad puts on the spare, a doughnut, while I try to sleep. We can't go all the way to Newton, Kansas, our final destination with one tire smaller than all the rest. So we go around this town, Ankany, and find a Tires Plus store. We (my dad, Anni, and myself) eat at this cool Italian fast food place called Fazoli's while the Tire's Plus guys fix stuff for us. As we're on the way out they tell us that a strut is rusted and/or broken, and will likely pop one of the new tires if we try to go to Kansas without getting it fixed. This is our broken car.
This really cool and nice guy at Amaco, Jason, makes some calls for us and hooks us up with a hotel room within walking distance while he finds someone to work on the car. Meanwhile, we wait. And wait. And then we open gifts. I got a way past cool digital camera, which is how I can show you pictures from our hotel. This thing is better than a CD Digital Mavica, and about the size of my wallet. Smaller, actually. It's 2" by 3" by 1" The hotel room is pretty nice, too. We played Yahtzee, supplied by the hotel. This is my sister, taking a nap after the stressful day.
More about my camera. It is the coolest thing, like, ever. Really. From the time I take a picture to the time I have it up on my website is about a minute. The complete list of things I've gotten is, as of right now:
1 microcassette tape recorder
$50
$25 gift card for Barnes and Noble
1 toothbrush
2 pairs of socks
1 shirt
1 hat
1 pair gloves
1 container of Lindor Truffles
Flinch (card game)
Lullaby by Chuck Palahnuik
10 CD-R CDs
10 floppy disks (PC Formatted)
2 mechanical pencils
1 pen
PowerShot S200 Digital Elph with accessories
All that is pretty cool, and I haven't even gotten my gifts from extended family on either side. Here's a picture of my with my camera, so far my most prized gift, no offense to anyone who would be offended.
Okay, so I'm having fun, despite how much my family wants to bring me down to their level of misery. We ate at Applebee's for supper, and then I came here to work on my website at the communal hotel computer. I'll give you part two sometime in the future, probably when I get to my grandparents house. Later.
