EIGHT MONTHS OLD

July 1, 2002

Alex is all over the place now. He crawls, pulls up on anything, and cruises. He has no fear of anything. He loves the water and enjoys the bathtub and the swimming pool (particularly the blow-up one). He likes to crawl in the water and will even put his face in.
He finally eats a wide variety of baby food. And he can eat Cheerios. He still is not into much table food, but he is now willing to sample a bit. His first tooth just popped through. One tooth doesn't get you very far, but I guess it's a start.
Alex is a happy baby. He loves the mornings. He babbles away. He is happy getting anyone's attention, but it truly a Mommy's boy right now. He can also be quite independent. He will crawl into another room (his, Nicholas', or the laundry room) and find something to play with. He will be gone 10-15 minutes before he comes looking for me. He also likes to pay attention to Nicholas. I think he learns a lot from him. He has his own sippy cup, but he always wants Nicholas'. He definitely is more interested in what we don't want him into than what we do. If you put a toy just almost out of his reach it will become the most fascinating thing in the room.
