FIFTEEN MONTHS OLD

January 30, 2003

At 15 months Alex is still a pretty little guy. I wish I could quote exact numbers, but his 15 month appointment got scheduled at 16 months. He's as independent as they come. He'll go off and happily play by himself, but he still loves to snuggle. We still rock him to sleep, but he has finally turned into a good little sleeper. He goes down around 9pm and sleeps straight through until 7am. I can't complain about that!

He eats pretty well now, favoring breakfast and dinner. He really only picks at lunch. He has finally stopped removing the food from his mouth, making him a lot neater than he used to be. Unfortunately, he likes to take sandwiches apart before he eats them, and that can make quite a mess.

He's learning boundaries and can play outside without going in the street or straying from our yard. We are still working on getting him to stay with us at the store. Right now if we set him free, he is likely to be off and running.

His vocabulary is beginning to increase. He says "mama, dada, up, down, milk, more, and no." Unfortunately he often says no when he means yes. We are working on that. Recently we've even heard him say "Alex" but it's still not very clear.

He loves to spin in circles. He finds it to be great fun. He also loves to chase daddy around the house. He has a great time playing Nick's drumset and really bounces along to the beat. When he plays quietly, he prefers his Little People and his Trains.
