Michigan Items

The best radio club on earth is the Michigan Area Radio Enthusiasts, MARE. Please join! We love good DX and odd humor. Sometimes the latter gets priority. We especially need people in their twenties and thirties.

Interesting Local AM and FM Stations

You can see every AM/FM station that I've ever heard. It took me about a week to transcribe this listing from index cards. Please see AM/AM Excel File. For text only, see AM text and FM text. Please visit my local stations page to view the TIS stations that I've heard.

40 Mile Point Lighthouse in Rogers City, MI, is a fantastic place to visit. I took some photos of the SS Calcite.

Their tape loop on 107.3 is up and running and can be heard around the property.

There is also a nice beach to walk along, complete with the rusted frame of a wrecked ship.

Language and Linguistics Information

I created some Excel files that contain schedules in interesting languages organized in different ways. They are ordered by stations, language, and time.

Interesting means different things to different people. I include languages that are fairly uncommon in the United States as a whole. I also include liturgical languages.

There are text files with the exact same information if you can't or don't want to deal with Excel. You can choose from stations, languages or time.

Eike Bierwith has Basic program to download if you want to order the entire HFCC sked in a particular way.

Updated PNG info.

I also explain language groups, resources, and info about my schedules. Please visit my linguistics page.

Religious Groups on Shortwave

I am also fascinated by religion, in particular unusual American sects and churches. For description of various movements, please choose the following:

I also have an Excel schedule of unique religion programs. They're unique either because of their history or their connection to the Great Lake State.

Check out the following links to religious stations:
