| Alec Su's performance at Arena of Stars, Genting Highland (Malaysia 2001) Author: Jing Han Editor: Jing Yi Chan Club: AIFC After waiting for 2 years to see Alec, my wish finally came true and truly unbelievable as he stepped into the Arena of Stars Genting Highland. The showcase was schedule at 8pm but I was already hanging around the venue at around 6. The weather was cold and rizzling. I was on the bridge that links a hotel to the Genting Outdoor Theme Park where the venue was. Out of a sudden, my sister who was with me saw 3 vans and inform me. Suprisingly some people whom I think is the organizer Galaxy Productions got off from the van and then of course our main character ALEC. His hair was longer and dyed which makes his livelier. He has cooler looks and good looking in real life than in my imagination. He was wearing red, which I think he wore to the autograph session at Sungai Wang. He came out and put on sunglasses and black jacket on. He is actually quite different than he was in the pictures I saw. I was so shocked as that was the first time I saw him live and so close. The organizers surrounded Alec as they quickly go into the Arena of Stars. (Jumping to the show) When we were finally allowed to go into the venue, I pulled my friend along quickly to get a good seat and better view. We sat on the first row behind the entire VIPs seat. However after a while the security there open the small gate that leads to the VIP seat and set everyone on the run to the front for a better seat. There was chaos but thanks to the security we had a chance to fill in the empty 2nd Class VIP seats. My sis helped us to get some good seats where my friends and I got to sit in a row together. We waited and waited for Alec appearance while listening and watching his music video that was shown on screen. Though he appears around 8:45, a bit later than the schedule, fans were already shouting to show their support to him. 2 REDI 98.8 DJs came out first and came to the fans asking them what will they want to say to Alec. Some said they love Alec some said they will always support him. Alec appeared singing a fast track <<102% Ai Qing>> (102% love) accompanied by some sexy dancers. He put on an amazing show dancing at times and singing wearing all black, which is so cool. He ended the excitement of the song by kneeling down in the middle surrounding by the dancers. He sang Andy Lau's hit song after that. His talents were shown when he sang that song with the title <<Lai sheng yuen>>. He was always concentrating on his singing putting a lot of feelings into it. Fans who wanted to give him presents and flowers will always have to wait for him or get his attention below stage. Then the games session started with the DJs appearing interviewing him for a while, asking why did he select to Andy Lau's song. He replied with a laugh because he is his boss's song but the main reason is stepping into a new sompany NMG and he always loved the song during he schooling days. After the talking, 5 lucky fans were selected to go on stage and play a game. 4 girls and a guy were asked to dance after some examples by one of the sexy dancers. When the dancer was showing the moves to the participants, Alec cheekily danced along with her too. His dancing is suprisingly good and I think better than everyone else on stage. Well, 2 girls, a tie, won the game but Alec seems to be attracted by one of the girls dance well and even put his hand over her shoulder. In the next game, 5 contestants were also selected and one of them was my sister. They have to guess the title of the song as quickly as possible when a part of the music is played. The girl who won this game was surely very good because she managed to answer all 6 songs faster than anyone else could and receive a CD and her poster were sign on the spot by Alec(Xiao Qi - You're so lucky !!). The rest was given a poster and a cassette. He sang <<San Li Dun>> and <<Zou kou>> (Exit) and ran back into the back stage, He came out again and sang <<XFYWN>> after all the shouting by the fans for encore. The final song he sang was <<MY good moods>> which he sang happily while throwing posters. My sister and I together with my friend at this time were on the left side of the stage (Alec's right). I got the poster so I didn't jump along with rest for the poster but instead waving my poster to him whilch I wonder (wish he could tell me) did I got his attention because he waved the poster he held on doing the same thing and smiled towards the side of the stage I was standing again and bent his knee a little making some cute faces which was adorable (hope he knows). Time past by and the show ended after he gave a bow and ran back into the backstage. I was hoping him to come out for a suprise or something but was in vain. He went back into his room I guess but was happy as I had the oppurtunity to meet him I took some photo's with the big poster on the stage after that and proceed back when almost everyone had left. The hotel which I was suppose to wait for a shittle back to the place I stayed for the night was coincidence where Alec had stayed for the night if I'm not wrong as the 3 van were parked at the front at VIP parking. People must have think I was insane as I took photo's with the cans. :P Last but not least, I have to take this opportunity to Thank Jing Yi for of the help she has offered me to get me there! It has been a wonderful trip that she has given to me J AND of course, good luck to AIFC and keep on progressing for the sake Alec. As I only speaks and listen but couldn't read Chinese that well, AIFC is one of the best site that I've visited ALEC WILL LEAVE A MARK IN OUR HEARTS, he has left one in mine as I have gained interest and knowledge in mandarin though I didn't attend any Chinese school before |
