Mark Bowden was born in St. Louis, Missouri in the year nineteen-fifty-nine.  He was raised in Illinois, Mary Land, and New York.  Right now he is living in southeastern Pennsylvania.  He graduated in nineteen-seventy-three from Loyola College of Maryland.  He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
As of right now he is a writer, and a professor at Loyola College of Maryland where he teaches creative writing and journalism.  He is also a journalist, and screenwriter.  He has been a writer for Philadelphia Inquirer since nineteen-seventy-nine.  He is also know for writing for Men?s Journal, Sports Illustrated and Rolling Stone.  He is most recognized for his book, Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War.  He has also written Bring the Heat,  Killing Pablo, Our Finest Day, Finder?s Keeper?s, and Doctor Dealer.
Mark Bowden is also involved with filmography.  In nineteen-ninety-three, he wrote the screenplay Money for Nothing, which was based on his article The Joey Coyle Story.  Next he wrote the screenplay of Black Hawk Down in two-thousand and one.  In two-thousand and two he helped with the TV show, The True Story of Killing Pablo.  He continued this spree when in two-thousand and three he helped with the TV show, The True Story of Black Hawk Down.  Right now he is writing the screenplay of Killing Pablo.
He has won a fair amount of awards for his work in his life time.  In nineteen-seventy-nine, he was awarded, Finalist, best newspaper writing, American Society Newspaper Editors, for Life in the Projects.  He was awarded Science writing award from American Association for Advancement of Science, in nineteen-eighty.  Then in nineteen-eighty-nine he won, Feature writing award from Sunday Magazine Editors Association, for Finder?s Keeper?s.  In nineteen-ninety-nine, Black Hawk Down spent a year on New York Times bestseller list, and was a finalist for the National Book Award.  His book, Killing Pablo won the Overseas Press Club's Cornelius Ryan Award as the best book in two-thousand and one.  His original series of articles, which became Black Hawk Down, won him the Overseas Press Club?s Hal Boyle award.
