Genbu no Miko and Seishi

Genbu is the tortoise, the god of the north. It's aura is green, although Genbu itself is black. The 2 seishi left exist only to guard the Shinzaho, and not have it fall in evil hands.

OUKUDA TAKIKO

Takiko is a girl whose father brought the Shi Jin Ten Chi Sho to Japan. They lived in the Taisho Era...about 70 years prior Miaka's time.

She opened the book, and became the first miko, Genbu no Miko. Her mission as Miko gave her the responsibility of protecting Hokkan Country, when Kutou from the East was threatening war. She made Genbu appear by gathering the seven Seishi, and was granted three wishes. One of them was used to protect Hokkan, another was used to send herself home, and the third wish was never used....

TOMITE

Tomite is the younger, more hotheaded of the two remaining Genbu Seishi. He died 200 years ago. His weapon of choice are ki rings.

HIKITSU
(manga #9/ TV34)

Hikitsu is the older of the Genbu Seishi. He wears an eyepatch, and like Tomite, he died 200 years prior to the storyline of Fushigi Yuugi. He controls ice.


Byakko no Miko and Seishi

Byakko is the tiger, the god of the west. Its aura is white. Only 3 of the seishi appear in the series.

OUSUGI SUZUNO

Suzuno is the second miko to be absorbed in the book. She became Byakko no Miko, but due to her strong will, did not fall victim to Byakko. She returns to the world outside the book, and lives normally...

TOKAKI

Tokaki was once Tamahome's master who taught him martial arts. Like Tamahome his Seishi ability is the ability to fight. (He is also a world class hentai.)

SUBARU
(manga #11/ TV41)

Subaru is Tokaki's wife. Her ability is time magic, and she can revert both her and her husband's bodies back to their prime.

TATARA
(manga #11/ TV42)

Tatara was the beloved of the Byakko no Miko. His ability is to control plants, which he uses both as weapons and for safe keeping. He was able to remain in his young form, by the power of Byakko, to guard the Shinzaho.
