Yui is the Seiryuu no Miko...but she didn't actually WANT to become the Miko at first.

Yui and Miaka have been best friends ever since they were in kindergarten. They were really close and were almost sisters. Miaka was always there for Yui ever since: rescuing her from bullies, and cheering her up when she's upset. Yui and Miaka really treasured their friendship. And *one* incident changed all that.

With the assistance of a certain general, several misunderstandings, her own jealousy, bitterness and habit of jumping to conclusions, Yui is driven to turn against Miaka. But deep down, she's still very dedicated to her best friend.

Yui is very bright and smart. But ever since she became the Seiryuu no Miko, her attitude became worse and worse. This is mainly because of Yui's doubt of herself. She became stubborn, selfish and careless of her actions, without thinking of the possible consequences. She was too tied up with trying to separate Miaka and Tamahome, that she didn't have time to think WHY she's actually doing it.

In practically the *whole* FY series, Yui was confused if what she's doing was right or not. Most of the time she pushes herself to think one way, but her true feelings point to the other. It's the fight of the mind and the heart.

Much as I'm irritated with Yui at times, I really pity her. She was used, lied to, betrayed and tortured the whole time. But she found herself at last in the end, and, even being very intelligent, she still had much to learn.

NAKAGO
manga #3 / TV10

The blond haired, blue eyed general of Kutou. He's also the intelligent, calculating, and cold leader of the Seiryuu Seishi.

Nakago has gone through a LOT..but narrating his past would spoil everything...(Just look in episode synopsis or spoilers!) But on the less specific side...Nakago has trained himself to become stronger ever since he was a child. He was taken in by the Kutou emperor at a young age, and unintentionally gathers majority of the Seiryuu seishi.

Nakago seems to think solely about destroying the Suzaku forces. Well, sort of, but this is all just a part of his big plan to become a diety. Nakago is very ambitious. And, with his strong psychic powers, powerful chi, and strategical mind, he may actually pull it off.

AMIBOSHI (Bu Koutoku)

The older of the Seiryuu twins, kind and gentle and doesn't like to fight. His weapon is his flute, which he uses to control the ki of others.

Miaka never believed that Amiboshi was originally evil. Well, she was right. He's just working for Nakago because he has to fulfill his duties as a Seiryuu Seishi. It's really unfortunate for him, too.

In one accident, everybody thought he was dead, but in actuality, he just had amnesia and so no one can search his chi. Fortunately for Miaka, he had been living in Sairo, and so he was able to save her from yet another dedly predicament. Fairly predictable to who see the trend, Amiboshi falls for Miaka. Even after he remembers everything, he still loves her, and even said, "I wish I 'll be reborn as a Suzaku Seishi..." In the end, he finally did what he thought was right according to him, instead of someone else.

SUBOSHI (Bu Shunkaku)

The younger of the Seiryuu twins, Suboshi is much more hot headed than his brother. As opposed to his brother, he usually acts before he thinks.

He's very emotional and is most of the time carried away by his feelings. He loves his brother, and Yui, very much, and is very devoted to both of them. He'll do anything to anyone that he thinks hurt one of the two.

SOI (Haku Kaen)

Soi was once a prostitute whom Nakago had saved years before. Because of this, she loves Nakago very much, and, although her love is unrequited, is completely dedicated to him. She even said once, "If it's for Nakago, I'll even sell my soul to the devil."

She raises Nakago's ki using bochu (a method of using sex to raise ki levels,) and also controls lightning and thunderstorms. It's virtually impossible for a normal human being to survive her lightning attacks, but, thanks to Hotohori's sword, Miaka pulled through.

ASHITARE
(manga #8/TV30)

Originally from Hokkan, Ashitare is a half-wolf, half-human beast that Nakago found in a circus tent. He has no remorse about killing. He'll kill anyone that gets in his way.

Even being a beast, Ashitare is also very dedicated to Nakago. I guess this is because of the constant whippings Nakago sets upon him.

TOMO (Ruochiyuin)

A dancer by trade, Tomo is a magician who specializes in illusion magic. Once caught in thrall by his illusion, though the world is not real, what happens to a person once in the illusion is.

Tomo's magic makes use of illusion shells. He puts whatever illusion he wants to in those shells, puts them where he wants to, and a smoke-like thing appears and forms into the aforementioned illusion.

Tomo is VERY recognizable. I mean, with all that make-up, you can't miss him, right? But, as we find out later, the make-up actually has a symbolic meaning!

MIBOSHI (? no real name given)

The mysterious evil monk, Miboshi's details are largely unknown. He possesses the bodies of others... usually children because they're easier to take over.

I don't really know where he came from...I don't think HE even remembers. I mean, after years and years of transferring bodies, right?^^
