Rachael: Thanks baby.

Chaz: No problem honey.

Rachael: You are going to stay over tonight right?

Chaz: Yeah if that's what you want.

Rachael: I know that I am probably bothering you about it but what did you and Adrian talk about?

Chaz: How about I tell you when I get back? Then you will have something to look forward to.

Rachael: Hey just knowing that you are coming back gives me something to look forward to.

With that being said I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. Chaz pulled away and told me that I would have to wait unil he came back. I gave him the puppy dog eyes but it didn't work. He got on his motorcycle and drove off in the direction of his parents' cottage.

I had just gotten out of the shower when I heard a knock on the door. I put my robe on and ran to answer it. However when I got there I saw nothing but a single red rose, and attached to it was a little note. I picked it up and went straight back into the cottage. I placed the rose on the table and opened the little note. It read:

I had no idea who "D" was but I didn't want to take any chances. I put the rose in water and took it and the note into my room because I figured no one would be going in there. I got dressed and went outside to wait for my friends to start arriving. I took the portable phone with me in case Mena or Chaz called. It was 9:00 and still there was no sign of anyone not even Chaz, so I decided to give him a call. I dialed his cottage number but there was no answer, so I tried his cell but it was turned off. I thought that was really weird so I decided to call Kirstyn, I really don't know why I wanted to call her but I did.

Rachael: Hey is Kirstyn there?

Kirstyn: This is... Hello... Hello?... Who is this?... This isn't funny... Who the hell is this?

I couldn't answer her, I was way too angry. Why? Well because as soon as Kirstyn answered the phone I thought I heard Chaz's voice in the background. Then when she said 'Chaz shut up' I knew that Chaz was at her house. Now I didn't know why he was there but still I had a feeling that she was up to something. I hung up the phone and thought that Kirstyn would never know who it was, but five minutes later my phone rang.

Rachael: Hello

Chaz: Hey baby, I am just calling to let you know that I am on my way.

Rachael: Okay whatever.

Chaz: Hey what does that mean?

Rachael: Don't try to play Mr. Innocent, I know where you were!

Chaz: Where?

Rachael: You were at Kirstyn's. And don't even bother trying to lie to me.

Chaz: Will you let me explain?

I really didn't feel like talking to him anymore so I just hung up the phone. I couldn't believe that both my boyfriend and a close friend were trying to ruin my last week at home. Up until this point I was not looking forward to leaving. But at that point I wanted to get on the plane and leave as soon as possible. I didn't want to have to deal with people who were so rude.

Mena and Riley were the first ones to arrive. Mena took one look at me and knew that something was wrong. She told Riley to stay by the door and let people in while she and I talked. We walked into my bedroom and sat on my bed.

Mena: Hey what happened between the time we left and now?

Rachael: Well let's just say I know who my real friends are!

Mena: We're still friends right?

Rachael: Of course, unless there is something you aren't telling me.

Mena: No but who wasn't telling you the truth?

Rachael: Well let's just say Kirstyn doesn't hate Chaz.

Mena: What do you mean?

Rachael: And Chaz well he must not think that Kirstyn is that much of a BITCH.

Mena: Where are you getting this idea from?

Rachael: He was at her house!

Mena: Really? Oh man I am sorry. You told them not to bother showing up right?

I didn't have a chance to answer because Chaz walked in holding a dozen roses and a stuffed cow. He really knew how to get into my heart. However Mena was so mad that she walked over to Chaz, pushed him out the door and slammed it. She knew that I needed her to do that because I couldn't be so mean.

Rachael: Thanks.

Mena: Hey what's a best friend for if not slamming doors in rude people's faces.

That made me laugh, Mena was really great for that. But Chaz decided that he wasn't going to leave until I heard what he had to say. I asked Mena to give me a minute alone with Chaz. She tried to get me to change my mind, but I refused. She agreed but promised that she would only be outside the door. I told her that I would be okay. She walked over to the door and let Chaz in.

Mena: You better not hurt her any more than you already have!

Chaz: She took the whole situation the wrong way.

Mena: Whatever but remember I will kick your ass if she walks out of this room crying!

Chaz closed the door after Mena left and slowly made his way over to my bed. He sat down and placed the flowers and stuffed cow on my lap. I wanted to just reach out and smack the sad look off of his face but I decided to let him say what he had come to say.

Chaz: Why didn't you let me explain?

Rachael: I really didn't want to hear you lie to me.

Chaz: You want the truth?

Rachael: Uh yeah.

Chaz: Okay I was at Kirstyn's because Adrian asked me to stop by before coming here.

Rachael: Why?

Chaz: I was getting there. He wanted Kirstyn to apologize to me. But as you can see when you called...

Rachael: Um how did you know I called? I never told you that... I just told you that I knew that you were there.

Chaz: Um... Well... Kirstyn just guessed that it was you because she didn't recognize your number. But like I was saying as you could tell we were not getting along when you called.

Rachael: You expect me to believe that?

Chaz: It's the truth so do with it what you want.

He got up from my bed and walked out the door and ran right into Kirstyn. She gave him a dirty look and began to walk into my room. I really didn't want to have to deal with her but I knew that she wasn't going to leave until I heard what she had to say.

Rachael: Yes can I help you Kirstyn?

Kirstyn: Yeah how come you didn't say anything when you called me?

Rachael: Who told you that I called?

Kirstyn: Chaz did... I asked him if had seen the number before and he said that it was your cottage number.

Rachael: And what was Chaz doing at your house?

Kirstyn: Exactly what he told you... Adrian had some crazy idea that I wanted to apologize to the sleaze ball.

Rachael: You know the two of you should get your stories straight before you try to lie to me.

Kirstyn didn't have a chance to answer because I pointed to the door signaling for her to get out. I am the type of person who hates it when people lie to me. Before I spoke to Kirstyn I was about ready to cry but now I was ready to get into a fight. I made Kirstyn leave because I just wanted to wrap my hands around her neck and strangle her until she was blue in the face. But I knew that if I did it then I wouldn't hear the entire story, so I decided that would come later.

I wanted to calm dowm before I went out and faced my friends so I picked up the single red rose that I received earlier and once again read the note. This guy sounded like he was really sweet. At that point I really wanted to know who this "D" was. I began to daydream when I heard screaming coming from my living room. I ran out of my room to see what was going on.

Rachael: Hey what the hell is going on out here?

Kirstyn: Oh nothing. So what are we going to do tonight?

Rachael: What makes you think that I still want you here?

Kirstyn: Come on Rach it was just a misunderstanding. Really you of all people should know how much I can't stand Chaz.

Rachael: Whatever

I knew that if I told Kirstyn and Chaz to leave I would never find out what was really going on. So I let them both stay. If they were doing something behind my back I wanted to catch them red handed. I proposed a game of Hide and Seek. Now sure that sounds pretty stupid now, but I wanted to play when there was absolutly no light coming into the cottage. This way if Kirstyn and Chaz hid together I would know that something was up.

Rachael: Hey guys why don't we play pitch black Hide and Seek?

Tamara: You mean the game we used to play in Mena's basement?

Rachael: Yeah. Is everyone up for it?

Everyone: Yeah sure.

I decided to let everyone take a personal tour of the cottage so they could find better places to hide. Chaz and Kirstyn both went in separate directions, so I was starting to think that maybe I was over-reacting to the fact that Chaz was at her house.

Chaz was wandering around the hall that had my bedroom in it. He opened the door to my bedroom and walked in. He saw a note lying open on my bed so he took the liberty of reading it. I guess I forgot to put it away and after Chaz read it he came charging out of my room, still holding the note.

Chaz: Rachael... What... Who the HELL is this from?

Rachael: Chaz where did you get that?

Chaz: That doesn't matter. Who is this from?

Rachael: What you don't trust me?

Chaz: That doesn't answer my question.

Rachael: Well what if I told you that I don't know who sent it.

Chaz: I wouldn't believe you.

Rachael: Well now you know how I feel about the whole Kirstyn thing. Now give me back my note and get out of my face.

I grabbed the note and walked quickly into my room slamming the door behind me. Chaz followed me but I ended up slamming his hand in the door. I was mad but not cold hearted so I took Chaz into the kitchen and grabbed some ice to put on his hand. I apologized for the injury to his hand and left him sitting in the kitchen.
