Summary
In order to study the effect of defoliation chemical on the leaf and Flower-buds fall off from cat tail willow, Using the leaf-fall chemicals 600x、1000x、1200x ; Ethrel 1,000ppm、2,000ppm、4,000 ppm; urea 12.5%、 25%、50% as the trial chemical and CK as the contrast before two weeks when the cat willow had been harvested at Shan-Shing in the year end of 1997. And using the Leaf-fall chemicals 600x、1000x、1200x; 99% Sodium Chlorate 600x、1000x、1200x、1500x as the trial chemical in the year end of 1998. In the investigation result of 1998 showed that the leaf-fall chemical of market at 1000-1200x had the best effect to the cat tail willow. And in 1999 showed all that been tried cat-willow had the leaf-fall rate over 97% better than that CK (plotⅠ) 71% and (plotⅡ) 48.7%. Flower buds-fall rate from the direct vase inserting without refrigeration after the cat willow had been harvested three weeks and the simulating export refrigeration three weeks then vase inserting one month showed that treatment of 99% Sodium Chlorate 1000x dilute solution had the least influence to the Production quality at plotⅠ25.7% and plotⅡ10.2%. So it also maybe a good defoliation chemical to cat willow.
