New Zealand Dog Agility Records
Introduction

Why a compilation of records for Dog Agility? I guess there are several reasons:

- to satisfy the statistician

- to satisfy the historian

- to satisfy the trivia seeker
Origins
Titles
National Dog Training Assembly
National Agility Competition
- and to acknowledge that, since agility was first demonstrated in 1980, it has grown into what must now be considered a fully fledged sport, well divorced from it's origins as a way to fill in a bit of time after an obedience competition.

So if Dog Agility is to be considered a sport, then we should be able to provide a set of records, as can virtually any other sport.

None of the records I've compiled are subjective - they are all arrived at from fact. However, the scant nature of historical records makes it somewhat difficult to provide the unequivocal record for every category, and because of this, all records listed are open to challenge from anyone who can prove otherwise.

Furthermore, any records reporting the "most", "best", "fastest", "youngest", "oldest" etc will constantly be subject to betterment, and accordingly readers are invited to submit instances of records that are subsequently broken.

The list of records is not exhaustive, and the categories have largely been chosen as a combination of those that could be factually proved and those that may be of interest to the average agiliteer. I have chosen not to list "breed" firsts e.g. first Labrador to achieve ADX etc.

All feedback is welcomed - this has turned into a time-consuming (though enjoyable) task, and whether or not I continue to update the records will depend on whether or not others see any point in doing so!
