When participating in extracurricular activities such as sports, band, leadership, etc., you learn a sense of teamwork, discipline, and skillwork.

In a big group like a sports team, for instance, in order to be successful everyone needs to talk and work together. So here you would learn team work which is very important for any team to work well.

Another value that is learned through participating in these activities is discipline. You are almost forced to work well and keep yourself in-line pretty much at all times.

One last thing learned is skill work. You should always be trying to perfect your task or role in the activity you are participating in. You can always improve on your skills.

In conclusion, teamwork, discipline, and skillwork are the three main and very important values learned from participating in extracurricular activities.
