Being part of very poor family was not easy for Lius Rodriguez. He grew up in a very bad neighborhood, where violence and the strugle to survive became part of his life day after day.
Always running is avery appropriate title for this memoir. The Chicano gang members were always running away from the police , from other gangs,from stores and specially from the reality.drugs were the rad they used to run away from problems.
Luis Rodriguez narrates the sory in a way that catches our attention. He is very successful in making us feel the violence that gangs bring to teenagers lives.Drugs were a way to run away from reality but drugs never solved their problems. Drugs only got him trown out of his house.Gangs brought violence and violence brought deaths.
In the end "Chin"(Luis rodriguez)finds real happiness in helping others.This is very true in real life you only find real happiness when you help others. you also help yourself by helping others.
There are a lot of gangs out there today. people from poor neighborhoods are more likely to join these gangs. when I was in Junior highschool, I was more exposed to gangs and students joined them to make others respect them. But I never thought about joining gags because my parents were always involved in my life.
