Should the internet be filtered?
The issue about filtering the internet has been very controvercial. Making the decision about filtering the internet or not hasn't been an easy one. On one hand are the conservative people who think the internet should be filtered so that Young people aren't exposed to inappropriate material like "pornography". On the other hand are the people who believe the Internet shouldn't be filtered because they feel children should be trusted to do the right thing.
Parents don't train their children to do the right thing and then give them the freedom to go to the internet and absorb harmful material and still expect them to do the right thing. Good parents are always seeking for their child's protection and try to keep them away from bad things. It is natural for children to be curious. This is why you can't give them the freedom to be one click away from "pornography".
I think most kids would like their parents to trust them, but it is only their parents who know whether they're trust- worthy or not. They're the only ones who should decide whether to filter their child's computer or not.
