Sure we all
know who Spike is, the amazingly hot and just as dangerous vampire on Buffy
the Vampire Slayer. Even with the chip in his head he's still got the bad
boy look and feel. Just who is the man behind the vampire though? That man
would be actor James Wesley Marsters. James was born August 20, 1971 in Greenville,
California and grew up in Modesto, though he is an Aussie, that's right the
accent is Australian, not British, but hey what's the difference really?
It may surprise some to know that his father used to be a minister and his mom almost became a nun. James was quoted in Seventeen saying, "I'm going to hell. Not only do I play a demon, but I like it. So what am I going to say to St. Peter? Oh, I'm sorry?" He also has a brother and a sister.
After graduating from Davis High School, James attended the famous Julliard School. He worked on stage for many years in New York, Chicago and Seattle. James then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television.
After landing small roles in such shows as Northern Exposure, Medicine Ball, Moloney and Millennium, James finally hit big when he was cast as Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Since his breakthough casting on BtVS James has appeared in the movie The House on Haunted Hill, the BtVS spin-off show, Angel, and is a co-star in the independent film Winding Roads.
Singing and playing guitar are two of James's passions and he has succesfully turned the two into a mini-career being very talented in both. He plays at a nightclub/bar in Santa Monica, California called 14 Below.
Marsters bleached hair is naturally brown, its also curly and is only dyed for the show to keep up his look as Spike and as many can see he has gorgeous blue eyes just about any girl could fall for. James is left handed and is around 5'10". Have any of you ever wondered just where he got his sexy little scar above his eyebrow? He obtained that scar from a trip to New York when he was mugged.
Here's an interesting fact for fans of James. No boxers, or briefs. That's right James is one man that does not wear anything beneath his pants. You may have noticed that during the filming of Buffy when Spike would get out of bed and just throw on his pants, no underwear needed.
