Welcome to the Character Biographies section of the site where the characters from the game are talked about and explained. The Majority of the characters here are found within the game but the rest are characters from FFVII Fanfiction. The new characters are found at the bottom of the page.
 

Name: Cloud Strife

History: He's a former member of SOLDIER, the elite guard of the Shinra Electric Company, but now he's a mercenary who fights for the highest bidder. He suffers from partial amnesia and feels that the key to his memories are buried with Sephiroth. As Final Fantasy progressed Cloud was told by Sephiroth that he was a clone of Sephiroth. He modeled himself on his dead friend Zack after he died. When Zack died he took his sword in remembrance.

Birthplace: Icicle Inn
History: This sweetheart was a flower girl on the streets of Midgar who was pulled into this conflict by the Shinra. It turns out she's a    decendant of these people called the Ancients, who were said to have  created the planet. Her magic prowess  in battle is something to behold! Aeris grew to love Cloud soon after they first met, unfortunately Aeris was killed by Sephiroth in the City of the Ancients while she was summoning holy. When Meteor struck, she commanded the Lifestream to stop it, saving the entire planet.

Name: Tifa Lockheart
Age: 20 (At end of FFVII)

Birthplace: Nibelheim
History: Tifa is a childhood friend of Cloud's. She left her hometown Nibelhiem to join the Terrorist group AVALANCHE in Midgar. She was also a waitress in a little hole in the wall called "The 7thHeaven". She trained with the world famous combat master, Zangan. Tifa looks sweet but can really kick butt! She had always felt something for Cloud and their fight to save the planet brought them closer than before.

Name: Barrett Wallace
Age: 35 (At end of FFVII)
Weapon: Gun-Arm

Birthdate: December 15
Birthplace: Corel Village
History:This is one mean hombre. He's the fightenest member of our little group, and he's the leader of the terrorist group, AVALANCHE. He lost his hand years ago in an incident with the Shinra, but then had a Gun Arm grafted in its place. I'd say he's the the second best fighter in our group. His best friend Dyne, who is the true father of Marlene died at Gold Saucer, he also had a gun crafted to hid arm, after he died Barrett vowed always to look after Marlene.

Name: Nanaki or Red XIII
Age: 45 (At end of FFVII)
Weapon: Head-dress
Height: 120cm
Birthdate: Unknown
Birthplace: Cosmo Canyon

History: Nanaki or Red XIII is the only known survivor of his species! He's mostly a mystery, he comes from a place called Cosmo Canyon, and fights with a firey ferocity . He escaped life as a lab rat for Hojo, the mad scientist on the Shinra payroll, to give the company a few "kickbacks" of his own. Red XIII's mother and father both died when he was very young and his father Seto is set in stone. The closest thing Red has to a father is the Cosmo Canyon Scientist; BugenHagen. Unfortunately BugenHagen died soon before Meteor struck.
 

Name: Cid Highwind
Age:32 (At end of FFVII)

Birthplace: Rocket Town
History: Cid is an old pilot with a heart of gold, although sometimes he lets his temper get the netter of him. He's the unofficial mayorof Rocket Town,and with his plane, the Tiny Bronco, and his airship, the Highwind, he gets the team in and out of more jams than I can count! He doesn't mind lending his babies to the cause, he just wishes they'd go easy on the paintjobs! Years before he joined AVALANCHE he worked for Shinra as a pilot to the corporation's space program. Th first mission went terribly wrong and the Rocket ended up back on the launch pad where it would never move from again. This ruined Cid's dream of flying into space and he blamed one of the ship's helpers for the failure, it was Shera. Although he hated her for ruining his dream, he grew to like her, at least a little bit.

Name: Yuffie Kisargi
Age: 16 (At end of FFVII)
Weapon: Knife, Boomerang,
Height: 160cm
Birthdate: November 20
Birthplace: Wutai
History: You may not think it to look at her, but our little Yuffie is from along line of ninja. She's trained with her father, Lord Godo - a great
warrior from the Wutai village. She uses mostly throwing weapons likestars, knives or boomerangs, and has a real eye for materia. Yuffie's a good fighter, if only she didn't get so airsick on the Highwind! Yuffie is definately the most energetic of the group and this usually means she's the most likely to end up in trouble.

Name: Vincent Valentine
Age: 27 (At end of FFVII)
Weapon: Gun (Death Penalty at end of FFVII)

Birthplace: Unknown
History: He was a former member of the Turks, the Shinra's hired help, who got caught between Hojo's arrogance and a hard place! The professor shot and surgically altered Vincent into the creature of the night. He interfered with Hojo's plans concerning injecting his love Lucrecia's baby with Jenova cells, no one ruined Hojo's plans - Hojo finished his experiment and left Vincent in a coffin where he spent the past 20 years. He joined AVALANCHE to get ahold of Hojo for taking him away from his lost love - Lucrecia, Sephiroth's mother! As a result of Hojo's experiments Vincent was left with a metal claw and the ability to metamorphose when he gets angry, another result of Hojo's experiments was the fact that Vincent is immortal, he didn't age in twenty years!

History: Speaking of weird, this cat's got the monopoly! When Cloud first met Cait he said he "magically" brought to life. His free fortunes are worth about as much as you pay for them. Although, he can really give the bad guys what-for when AVALANCHE need it most. Although Cait says he was "magically" brought to life he is actually a robot created by Shinra, the Shinra executive Reeve controls him from Midgar, originally meant to spy on AVALANCHE Reeve soon became a friend of the group and stopped spying on them a helped them.

Name: Sephiroth

Weapon: Long Sword (At the end of FFVII he doesn't need it!)
Height: 185cm
Birthdate: Unknown
Birthplace: Unknown
History: He was heralded as Earth's greatest warrior, an elite among the elite guard of Shinra, SOLDIER. The stories and legends about him were nothing compared to the real thing. He once took a Midgar Zolom and wrapped it around a tree! His strength was met by nothing on this planet! But, he disappeared about five years ago and has been missing ever since. He worked with Cloud and Zack at SOLDIER and was quite close to both of them, until that is they went to Cloud's hometown of Nibelheim. At the Nibelheim reactor Sephiroth realised he may have been created like the monsters he found there, he went angry and left the reactor, he read up and found out he was the son of Jenova, and that he had been created to be a super soldier. He grew so angry he burnt down Nibelheim, killing Cloud's mother. He went back to the reactor to where the Jenova creature was kept. He had to be stopped and so Cloud killed him, pushing him down into the reactor's core. Sephiroth returned though, six years later, but this time it was a clone and with the same evil intentions as the last. Sephiroth wanted to destroy the planet using meteor and aborsb it's power, becoming a god. Cloud killed him again and hoped he'd seen the last of him, but has he?

History: Zack was Aeris' old boyfriend, and a member of the Shinra guard, SOLDIER. He's been missing for about six years,
and no one knows where he could be. He was a friend of Cloud's in SOLDIER and they escaped from Nibelheim after it burned down. They planed to go to Midgar and work as hired mercenaries, but before they could leave Shinra police caught up with them, Zack and Cloud were thought to have burned down Nibelheim and so the police shot them on sight, leaving both of them, thinking they were dead, Cloud woke up with slight injuries to find his companion dead.

Name: Shera

Birthdate: Unknown
Birthplace: Kalm
History: Shera was one of the main engineers behind the design and construction of the Shinra No. 26. (see Cid's profile) She ruined the space program for Cid and feels eternally sorry, although she probably doesn't like to admit it, she has quite a soft spot for Cid. Although quite shy, Cid likes her too, but he doesn't like to show it.

Name: Marlene Wallace

Birthplace: Corel
History: Barret's adopted daughter is one of the main things that keeps him fighting day in and day out! Little Marlene seems to bring out the best in Barret. Barrett left Marlene in Kalm when Meteor had been summoned to keep her safe. Marlene has distinct memories of the person she calls "The Flower Lady".

History: Red XIII believed his father was a traitor and a coward for many years. Recently he found out that Seto was one of the bravest warriors ever to set foot in Cosmo Canyon. He held off the invading Gi tribe and saved the village from a grissly doom. Only Bugenhagen and Red's mother knew the truth all these years. Seto was left set in stone after he was shot with a mystical arrow fired by some of the Gi tribe, he still rests there now, waiting to be set free.

Name: Rufus Shinra

Weapon: Shotgun and Dark Nation
Height: 186cm

Birthplace: Midgar
History: Rufus took over the reigns of the Shinra company when his father was murdered by Sephiroth. Rufus is as arrogant as he is cruel. His idea was to rule the world by controlling people with fear, not money! His pet Dark Nation is telepathically linked to him and the bond between them is very great. Rufus died when the Diamond Weapon sent a blast towards the Shinra building, this destroyed most of the building and killed Rufus instantly, or did it?

Name: Reeve
Age: 26 (At end of FVII)

Birthplace: Midgar
History: Reeve's the head of Urban Development in Midgar, He was given the job of spying on AVALANCHE under the guise of Cait Sith. Eventually he became friends with the group and trusted them and so they trusted him. He's one of the only Shinra executive who actually cares about happens to other people. But when the Shinra are finished he needs to find himself another job.

Name: Tseng
Age: 25 (At Death)
Weapon: Gun
Height: 180cm
Birthdate: Unknown
Birthplace: Unknown
History:Tseng is the leader of the Turks. He's been hunting down Aeris for years, since the Shinra believes she'd make a good
addition to SOLDIER. He takes his job really serious, and usually handles the most important missions personally, like guarding the higher-ups. He always keeps the Turks on a tight leash, to make sure they get their dirty work done. Unfortunately Tseng was killed by Sephiroth in the Temple of the Ancients.

Age: 19 (At end of FFVII)

History:This wet-behind-the-ears rookie is the newest member of the Turks, although she is probably the most level-headed. She was brought in when Tseng was temporarily out of action. But she doesn't strike me as the warrior type. Out of all the Turks she probably missed Tseng the most, he trained her to be what she was. After the death of Tseng she hardened up, she couldn't let someone get so close again.

History: Reno is one the meanest Turks the Shinra got. But this scrawny little punk doesn't take his job or any of the other Turks seriously. He only works when he has to and likes spending afternoons drinking with his best friend, Rude. Although he can act like a proffessional when he wants to. His Electo-mag Rod is a powerful weapon that he doesn't hesitate to use.

Age: 27 (At end of FFVII)

Height: 179cm
Birthdate: Unknown
Birthplace: Midgar
History: Rude's the brawn behind the Turks. His only problem is that he listens to his pal Reno too much. He lets himself get talked into blowing off work to gossip or hit the taverns. When he does go to work his fire attacks are somethin' else. Rude is probably the quietest of the Turks.

Birthplace: Rocket Town
History: Born in Rocket Town and the son of Cloud Strife, he is a lively young boy with a curiosity that is likely to get him in trouble. As the son of Cloud he has been taught to defend himself against various monsters and other potential attackers; he is a kid that is care-free and easily pleased.

History: The cute little daughter of Tifa and Cloud, she's always up for fun and never leaves her mother's side when danger's afoot. As Cloud's daughter, he decided no to train in any form of self-defence or art that would involve Cherrie getting hurt.
