When day is done

As shadows fall and day is done,
My soul rests with the setting sun.
I turn my thoughts to things above
And thank my Lord for all he's done.

When day is done, I rest assured
I did my best, and I endured.
By trusting God to lead the way
Despite the trials of the day.

Though shadows fall, I never fear
Because my God is always near.
Keeping watch throughout the day
Until He sends the morning light.

***

As stars appear, I feel His love,
And offer praise to Him above.
Then peace descends with setting sun
As shadows fall and day is done.
