Artist's Statement

"Color and light are a constant joy to me and I strive to convey the subtleties that sourround us"
Ms. Hamilton, who has a degree in education, has studied art with a number of nationally known artists since 1985. Both her pastels and oil paintings have garnered many awards. In 1993 Ms. Hamilton was included in the ARtists of Texas, Volume IV, Fine Arts Catalogue. Her pastel painting, "Turtle Creek" was included in the Dallas Museum of Arts' Beaux Arts Auction in 1994. She was featured as one of the "master pastel artists of the world" in the 2003 June-July issue of International Artists Magazine. Her paintings are hanging in private collections as well as corporate offices.
Janice has taught workshops and given programs for numerous art organizations and has taught continuing education classes at Brookhaven and Richland Community Colleges. She is now teaching private classes.
Ms. Hamilton is past-president of both ACA and the Pastel Society of the Southwest and is a member of the Degas Pastel Society and the Oil Painters of America.
