Beth Shirley has been associated with art all her life, but after she discovered pastels, her work began to flourish with love of color and detail. She won 'Best of Show' in the first juried show
that she entered. Since then, she has done pastels exclusively, winning four more awards in the
Pastel Society of the Southwest's annual shows, in addition to other exhibits.
Her work, 'Cockscomb Bedlam' received the Second Award of Excellence in the Pastel Society's 2000 National Open Show. In 2001, she was admitted to the Pastel Society of America as a Signature Member.
She has served as President of the Pastel Society of the Southwest.
