How Local #15 works

Officers board meets the Wednesday before our monthly meeting at 7:00. All members are welcome to attend.

No meeting in December because its too close to Christmas, we have an annual Christmas party at the beginning of December.

Nominations for officers in October and November, elections in November. Positions are held for the calendar year.

We have 3 shares a month at $15.00 to support out state lobbyist, so we send in $45 per month or $540 per year from our chapter.

At the beginning of the year we vote in a progressive raffle. Members attending a meeting put $1 in the pot, but new members do not pay their first month. One name is pulled from all current paid up members and if they are present at a meeting they get the pot. If the person is not there it rolls over to the next meeting. If the pot is not won by the November meeting, the money goes to our annual Christmas party. Largest pot so far was almost $200.

We have a raffle and 50-50 at every meeting. The same tickets are used, and prizes are donated by local business members and individuals. We have one rule for the 50-50 raffle, If you are not a current paid up member, money is held for a membership.

Our sign up sheet is used for an e-mail list and a phone tree. We will give you a reminder before meetings and upcoming events we support. Our lists are cofidential and never given out. E-mails are less then 20 a year.

We collect for the Contra Costa Food Bank towards the end of the year. Voted in are matching funds from our Local's treasury.

We support the MFR, they do on a federal level what all the state motorcycle rights organizations do, and share their information without copyrights to all members. We join every year as a sustaining member for $100.

We send money to help with the printing of the ABATE voters guides for all state elections.
