Today we completed our class version of Eeny, Meeny, Miney, Mouse. Now we just have to finish the illustrations. We are so creative! We practiced completing a written retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We are doing really well. We need to remember to include events from the beginning, middle and end. We continued our work with problem solving in math.

We had fun with our "Read My Mind" Word Wall game. Mrs. martin mixed up her clues so we really had to listen to see if she asked for rhyming words or same beginning sounds. Mrs. Martin read The Doorbell Rang for Math. The book used subtraction and other problem solving strategies.

We started a new story today. We read Where's Your Tooth? We worked on using reading strategies to figure out the "tricky parts" and understanding the difference between asking a question and giving a statement.

We began the process of rewriting the text for Where's Your Tooth? We made a list of ideas today. Next we will pick from the ideas to create our own version. We came up with some very unique places a tooth could be hiding.

Today we made Apple Smiles. We read the story Rabbit's Loose Tooth. We used apples, peanut butter and marshmallows. It was a mess but boy did we have fun! We're bringing home our Poetry Notebooks to practice. Let's go through them together!
Special Notes:
Help me retell my stories to you. Let's do it orally and written. I need to make sure to include the beginning, middle and end. Keep practicing your Word Wall Words.
