Nice site!! It brought back many memories. I was at Kwaj/Roi Namur 81-82 working for GTE on Altair. At the time we cut over the system to a DEC PDP11-780 and thought it was pretty hot stuff at them time. It's nice to look back upon my old Roi Rat days Keep up the good work.

Rob. My Brother P.F.C.Frederick J.Woodard was killed at Roi Namur in Feb. 1944.He was with Basil Duncan, who gave me info. about your site.Fred landed on thec island to the right of namur,I may have the spelling incorrect, ennurregut.Fred was just 18 years ld at the time.He was with the !st Joint Assault Company assigned to the 3rd battalion,25th Marines. They landed the day before the main force landed on Roi-Namur.Sometime later he and some of his freinds started across to Namur whe a rip tide came in and rown fred and Tom Norton.I met Dunc and some of the other members of Fred`s Team,3.3 at a reunion at Salt Lake City.Ther`s a write on Dunc`s page titled "a Brother Remembers".It`s in two parts. You mentioned Sorenson`s name,I read about him in the 4th Mari e Divsion`s "Green Book".That invasion is also written up in a book called The Alleusoin,Gilberts and Marshall Islands".I don`t have a website and use the one at our Library. Some time ago I tried to Contact the American Legion on Kwaj. The had an anniv rsary booklet published a few years back that I had hoped to get.I have put together a manuscrip on Fred`s life and gather as much info.on that battle and people in it.Your site hit home with me and enjoyed it tremendously. Will continuie to visit your si e.Thank you.
