WOW! November was one
busy month! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. The activities that
we did during the month qualified for a number of tracks on the Wolf trail.
As you know, there are 49 tracks that must be completed prior to
earning the Wolf badge. In November (including 10/31), we built bird feeders
at the Home Depot (track 5e), learned about the flag (tracks 2a-e), participated
in the Essex District Gold Rush, helped create a meal for the Lazarus House
(track 8c), participated in the Pack 51 Hay ride, and participated in the
Pack 51 cake bake (where Den 3 won 4 1st and 2nd place ribbons).
I'd like to thank Maureen Kirk for allowing us to destroy (I mean use) her house for the Lazarus House meal preparation and Pete Bajor for his help in creating the Den 3 covered wagon. December will feature only two den meetings and one pack meeting. This month we will start tracks associated with Achievements 6 (Start a Collection) and 7 (Your Living World). I encourage you to work with your son over the next several weeks to start (or continue) a collection. For example, I have a penny collection from my childhood. I plan to work with John to bring it up to date. This activity will help complete the requirement for Achievement 6. There is one more major event in December - Scouting for Food. |
Details on the process
will be provided at the 12/02 meeting.
By the way, the cake bake seemed quite successful, though I do not have final numbers regarding the level of donations. I'll let you know.... The details: for the month of December, Pack 51/Den 3 will have the following events: 12/02 Den Meeting
12/05 Scouting for Food
12/09 Den Meeting
12/12 Scouting for Food
12/16 PackMeeting
01/06 Den Meeting
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Pierson Family and Pack 51! |
