The Sea trout or weakfish is a migratory fish and
has very distinctive coloring. Seatrout are born in
fresh water but develop out at sea, returning to
reproduce in their native river. The sea trout
spends little time in the sea, and even then stays
close to the coastline. The Sea trout feeds on
various invertebrates or young fish in the water,
eating at the surface as well as beneath it. Sea
trout feed mainly from sundown to about midnight,
with further action near daybreak. Sea trout will
also feed during the day as long as light levels and
air temperature are not too high. Rainy and or cloudy
days are said to be the best time to catch this
delicious fish. Be sure to keep your catch in a
cooler full of ice to keep it from spoiling.
