Next to Skydiving, Flying is my greatest love. I started flying at age 14, actually my first lesson was when I was 14. But life has it's odd quirks and I didn't finish my license until I was 32.
As a teenager I was never able to financially follow my dream of becoming a pilot. During the summer, I used to work odd jobs to earn flying hours. I joined the Army when I graduated High School and almost finished my license in Germany. Things in my life changed (job, family, etc.) before I could finish my license and I had to wait.
Now, some 19 years later, I enjoy flying as a certified Private Pilot (when I can afford it that is). Besides the training aircraft I've flown (Cessna 150/152) I've flown a Piper Warrior, Piper Cherokee, Piper Tomahawk, Piper Archer, a Grumman T-Cat, a Cessna Caravan, a Dehavland Twin Otter, and a Cessna 172.
Believe me, I plan on adding more to the list to include some home builts. My real dream is to some day build my own plane (and own a Chance/Vought F4U-4 Corsair). Maybe I'll build one of Burt Rutan's models or a variant. Until then I'll just have to keep saving the bucks and build up hours!
