Christine's Custom Sewing

My Workroom

My workroom is in my basement. It measures 10' X 7'. Its a separate room with a door so that I can leave projects unattended. I have an industrial straight stitch sewing machine, a home sewing machine, an ironing table, a cutting table, two metal shelving units, a desk, pegboard along one wall (to hang tools and supplies), and large "L" brackets (to hang treatments for final inspection).
Initial supplies included: good scissors, pinking shears, 72" ruler, 36" ruler, 6" ruler, square ruler, tape measure, "T" pins, straight pins, needles, extra bobbins, assorted color thread, quilting thread, stitch witchery (for heavy work), tailor's chalk, fabric eraser, seam ripper, large plastic cutting mat, cotton cording, pillow forms, mechanical pencils, electric stapler, iron (I like Norelco's "No Drip"), and cardboard tacking strip. Also purchase a "Three Copy" sales book. The first copy is for you, the second copy is for the customer, and the last copy is to attach to your finished work.
Additional equipment that is nice to have, but is not necessary: sewing machine that will do button holes and take a ruffler attachment and a serger machine to finish seams.
