ManBREAK (live review)
Liverpool's ManBREAK are an eclectic bunch to look at; the guitarist is a bendy doll who dresses like a skate bum, the two singers prance around in knitted jumpers with one looking like Liam Gallagher meeting Funkadelic, while the bassist looks like a spectacled college dweeb.
But the music! ManBREAK certainly pack a punch and create an interesting sound , lying somewhere between Happy Mondays, The Beastie Boys and Reef. Sometimes the two vocalists look a little cluttered, but it's early days, and when you come out of a venue humming bits of songs, you know there is something there worth remembering. Oh yeah! And the guitarist is paranoid about journalists too. Has he stolen one too many car stereos by any chance?
