SchoolThe Columbia School of Highland Dance was founded in 1976 by Bonnie Wylie. Bonnie is a member of the BATD and a registered adjudicator of highland dancing for the SOBHD/FUSTA. She has judged throughout the United States and Canada, and her dancers have competed successfully in those same regions. Her assistant instructor is Aimee Frantz, a premier dancer taught by Bonnie since childhood. Aimee is currently studying for her teacher's exam and regularly competes as an adult premier dancer.

The school is located in a studio in Bonnie's Columbia, MD, home. Currently, CSHD offers 6 or 7 classes per week - primarily on Tuesday nights - for its 20+ students. The students range in age from 4 to 40+ and in ability from new beginners to championship premiers. We always welcome new students.

The focus of the school is on competitive Highland Dancing, although we perform regularly with a few local pipe bands as well as at Scottish functions and other community events in the Baltimore/DC region. Dancers from the school have appeared in concerts at Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Washington, DC's Kennedy Center, to name just a few appearances. They've competed throughout Eastern North America from Florida to Quebec and countless places in between.

The school can be reached by email at bonniwylie@aol.com or by telephone at (410) 995-0718 or (410) 730-5718. The mailing address is: 8574 Hayshed Lane, Columbia, Maryland 21045, USA.
