METRO BOSTON BUSH FIRE BRIGADE

The Metro Boston Bush Fire Brigade is part of the Metro District Commission which is responsible for lots of woodlands around Boston. They have about 50 staff members trained to fight forest fires and they have about 15 old pumpers. Radio operations occur on Channel 3 (the "Reservations" channel) on the State 800Mhz trunked radio system in the Boston area. (This is Type I talk group 200-03)

One of the islands in Boston harbor has about ?50 small houses that have been there since the 19?20s. They are mostly used as summer homes. Also - the Boston harbor Islands are now part of a ?cooperative park program with the National Park Service.
