Dispatch Operations
In ?1998 the new 911 comm center opened up and it now houses the 911 calltakers and the fire dispatchers. All fire units are dispatched via landlines and the telegraphic bells. Boxes are beeped out on the radio system - two rounds for all alarms. No allouts are transmitted via the radio bells / beeper. No paging is done on 154.415. Lynn FD has licensed 470.45R in 11/97 for possible future use.
The primary means of dispatch may be the radio system. No paging is done on 154.415 but each station has 1 person on "watch" duty at all times if the unit is in quarters. This person is responsible for monitoring the radio, the bells system, and the department telephone. (Dec00)
