Dispatch Operations
One fire dispatcher is on duty at the fire dispatch center at Station 7. Stations are alerted via a paging system on the primary fire radio channel (483.4375R). Stations acknowledge the call either via telephone or via telegraph - (they do not acknowledge via radio).
A Class B telegraphic bell system is used. (A Class B system requires the dispatcher to retransmit any signals to the stations - signals are not automatically received in the various stations when a street box or master box is activated). Boxes are beeped for 2 rounds on radio Channel 1. Allouts are also beeped on radio Channel 1.
