ROMEO SMILKOV
Romeo Smilkov, born in 1960 in Chirpan, Bulgaria, studied in the Music-High Schools in Bourgas, Plovdiv and Sofia and graduate the State Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia, where he studied with professor Lyuba Encheva, and professor Milena Mollova. He participated in the master class of professor Vera Gornostaeva (Russia). Romeo Smilkov has won various prizes - Salerno '79, Sofia '84, "List - Bartok" Competition '89. He performed for the first time in Bulgaria works by J. Chr. Bach, D. Ligetti, Ivan Spasov and others. He played in numerous concerts in Austria, Italy, Russia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Romania and Japan. Romeo Smilkov is currently professor in the National Academy for Music and Dance in Plovdiv. He recorded some CD productions under the direction of Nayden Todorov.
