LJUDMILA GEROVA

Ljudmila Gerova started studying music since early childhood, playing the violin and the piano, and singing in the world-famous "Bodra Smyana" Children’s Choir. She graduated from the State Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov” majoring in Music Theory and Singing. Pupil of the famous singer Elisabeth Rutgers. Major periods and events in Mrs. Gerova’s artistic career: 1977-1987 Soloist and choir-master of the "Polyphony" - a Cappella Choir, conducted by Ivelin Dimitrov; 1989 Specialized with Prof. Lore Fischer in Weimar; 1990-1991 Enjoyed an active concert career, recorded for the Bulgarian National Radio; 1992 Released a CD with songs by Joseph Marx - a world premiere, issued by "Gega" by order from the USA; 1993 Enjoyed an active concert career. Digital recording of Schumann’s "Dichterliebe" cycle for the Bulgarian National Radio; 1994-1996 Concerts in Germany, France, recordings for a program of Radio France. Beginning of her partnership with pianist Krassimir Gatev. 1997 - 1999 CD recording with Sofia Festival Orchestra under the baton of Nayden Todorov, recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio and Television, participation’s at the Sofia Music Weeks and the Musica Nova international festivals, “Thracia Summer” Music Festival, the Plovdiv Chamber Music Festival, the March Music Days in Rousse, Easter Festival in Plovdiv, etc. First performances of works by Lazar Nikolov, George Crumb, Dimitry Shostakovich, etc. Concerts in Germany and recorded for the Sudwestfunk-Baden Baden. Besides as a chamber music performer Ljudmila Gerova is also known as a soloist in cantata-and-oratorio works played by the Plovdiv Philharmonic, Sofia Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra of Bulgarian National Radio, Vidin Philharmonic, "Sofia Soloists" Chamber Ensemble, "Studio Concertante" Chamber Ensemble...
