KRASSIMIR GATEV
Krassimir Gatev starts his musical training as early as seven years of age and graduated the Moscow Conservatoire in the class of J. Flier. His repertoire is very large – from the classic to modern music, including instrumental concerts, musical series and recitals. In the interval between 1962 – 1973 he became a Laureate of: 1962 – International Competitions – Helsinki; 1963 – Margeritte Long – Paris; 1964 – Queen Elisabeth – Brussels; 1968 – Montreal; 1973 Van Cliburn – Forth Worth – Texas, where the title “Honorary Citizen” was conferred on him and he was invited as a member and organizator at the Foundation of the Competition. In collaboration with “Balkanton” Krassimir Gatev realized nine records with compositions of Brahms, Franck, Skrjabin, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Schostakowitsch, Vladigerov and others... After series of successful concerts with Raina Kabaivanska in Italy he recorded for “Cetra” – Torino a recital of Russian classic music. In the period 1963 – 1968 in parallel with his activity as soloist of Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Agency “Chamber music” he also recorded over 1700 minutes instrumental concerts and chamber music (duo, trio, voice) for the Bulgarian National Radio and Television. He has given numerous successful concerts with prominent orchestras and recitals in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Poland, Hungary, the USA, Rumania, France, Russia, Sweden, etc.
