MARCELO EHRLICH

Marcelo Ehrlich was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1964. He started his music studies at the Conservatory of Sao Paulo, but later moved to Boston. In 1983 he emigrated to Israel and graduated from the Rubin Academy in Tel Aviv. He has attended master classes in France and Canada. At the age of 12 he won third prize at the Young Performers Contest in Brazil, and a year later he was awarded first prize in the same contest. In 1986 he won second prize at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. He gave concerts with the Sao Paulo Youth Orchestra, the International Youth Orchestra of Poland and with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Ehrlich gave a number of recitals in different countries together with the guitar-player Reuben Seroussi. As a soloist he played for the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Marcello Ehrlich has been working with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra since 1990. In 1998 and 1999 he gave a number of concerts with that orchestra, conducted by Nayden Todorov.
