Class Policies and Procedures

  • Policy on class attendance.  Students are expected to attend ALL classes.  Often, material is provided in class that is not found in the text and missed class results in missed material.  When you miss class, You are responsible for getting notes and assignments from another class member.

  • Missing an exam.  No make-up exams are given unless the student has been excused PRIOR to the absence.  You may call the instructor at any hour and leave a message on voice mail if necessary or you may email at any hour if necessary.  Make-up exams must be conducted in evening programs by prior arrangement.

  • Dropping a class.  Non-attendance of class does not constitute official withdrawal.  Formal withdrawal procedures are the responsibility of the student.

  • Academic Dishonesty.  Any dishonesty during an examination will result in 0 points on the 1st occurrence.  2nd occurrence will result in a failing grade for the class.

 Why?
To apply your Access 2002 knowledge by creating a database from start to finish.

What?
Design and Develop a database to capture, collect, manipulate and report information that is of value to you.  This may be something for work, second jobs, recipes, groceries, expenses, hobbies, collections, and fun…

When?
This project will be presented on December 11, 2002

How?
There will be several minimum requirements that are mandatory for a ‘C’ grade.  You may complete more than the minimum for a higher grade.

The requirements are:

  1. At least 2 different tables
  2. The tables must be joined by a common field with referential integrity
  3. At least 1 query which displays data from both tables (sorts, groupings, aggregate functions, conditions are a plus).
  4. At least 1 form to add, edit and delete data from both tables (additional functionality, main form/sub-forms, extra controls are a plus).
  5. At least 1 report to display your data in a printable format (sorting, groupings, sub-reports are a plus).
